Today is gonna be a busy day. I gotta go next door and check on the neighbors dogs. They are a combined age of 49 between the three of them (In literal years, not yet converted to "doggy-years"), they are really old. I feel like I can hear the oldest one begging me to put him out of his misery every time he makes eye contact with me. My neighbor is a vet, and she keeps her dogs alive to an inhumane extent (IVs, injections, meds...) Sometimes death is the most peaceful thing you can offer an animal that can no longer support his own weight long enough to move itself from where he releases his bowels. I don't want to think about my dog reaching that condition. Anyway, I'm gonna go check on them...Then I gotta blow and bag leaves. I'm trying to knock out as many chores as I can so the girlfriend doesn't make a fuss when I spend the remainder of my day watching football!

BTW, it's the time of the year where we have to eat a lot of chestnuts around here. Got myself stuffed yesterday, today... and I anticipate that tomorrow will bring some more, since tomorrow is the official S. Martinho (St. Martin?) day... and we are now getting the customary "S. Martinho" summer, with fine sunny days and warmish temperatures... I'm back to wearing a t-shirt!
