As others have pointed out, your question, as stated, is flawed.
Atheism is nothing more than a response to a claim, it is not a claim itself that needs to be proven true.
In no sense is the disbelief in gods a religion.
You are either operating with a poor definition of the word 'religion' or a poor definition of the word 'atheism'.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
