God sends forth two bears to kill forty-two children for making fun of Elisha’s bald head (2 Kings 2:23-24). Why would the omnibenevolent God feel the necessity to have two bears viciously maul little children for acting like…children? This is supposed to be the same “wonderful” and “loving” God who promises us eternal life. HMMM.

HMMM. in the old testament, god is... for some reason, some angry vengeful monster who is angry at his own creation.... uhh.. regardless of knowing it was already going to happen that way... but in the new testament he becomes this happy loving turn the other cheek god and thats what most modern churches follow the new testament and cherry pick the old testament for the good things god did and ignore the bad and put fourth some excuse of, "oh, god was training them" or some dumb excuse. not to mention god killing himself to himself to cover up his mistakes to make it seem like its humanitys fault for what they are born with (sin) that way he could send people to hell if they dont follow him, turning his religion into a fear based system... its a loophole

it isn't in our nature to think of a God, it is in our nature to seek answers and the concept of God is most influenced in this world.
Xtians are as dumb as fucking rocks and pretty much believe whatever they are told.

It really isn't their fault. For centuries the church told them "don't even read that stupid fucking book...listen to us." You know, with sheep the lesson sinks in.
I actually sat down and tried to work out if this is possible once, working on the basis that the kids would scatter and an estimate of the top speed of bears, the top speed of kids, and the time it takes for a bear to maul someone.
No clue.
"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken." Sith code
These were probably heavenly bears....equipped with phasers or something.
You know the drill. "If the bible says it happened....it happened." Why do you think I ridicule the clowns? They're magic bears. Durr. Of course it's possible. By insulting Elisha, the youths were expressing their disdain and disrespect for God's representative Elisha. The curse which God sent was also a warning of the curse which he would also bring against the entire nation. Actually, God was very patient with the Samarians, giving them countless warnings which they ignored time after time. How many times did they need to be hit on the head before they realized what he was telling them? In new testament times, as well as atoning for our sins, he gives us countless warnings of what the future holds for those who reject him. If we choose not to go to him, then we spend eternity without him. He won't force us to take the gift that he lovingly offers to us. You can say what you want about God, but he is loving, and he is also just. |
