Do atheist belive in capital punishment

RE: Do atheist belive in capital punishment
As a Christian ™. I'm against the death penalty. It removes the possibility for people to improve themselves. As a person I'm against it for more practical reasons. And to the op, quite seriously, are you getting any sort of professional support or help? You're obviously in a bad place and AF is not a substitute for councilling. Too many people will tell you to go fuck yourself. That almost never happens in therapy.

Boru

One flaw does not invalidate the whole thing. There's a small percentage of innocents that get caught in the system, and that percentage will only shrink over time.

What if someone brutally raped and murdered your children (or other loved one) and made you watch? Also they eviscerated them and made you wear there internal organs on your body. And they cut their genitals off and forced you to eat them. After that they cut the head off and skull fucked them. Lastly they took the impregnated brain matter and fried it up for supper and made you eat some.
What about then?

Sure, individual atheists believe in the death penalty. And individual atheists don't believe in the death penalty. It's not really how you determine if someone is an atheist or not.

Now, if you're asking about atheists as a group, the only thing we believe collectively is that there is no god (and even that's up for discussion).

As for me, I'm kinda torn on it. I see how corrupt the state and our justice system is and I know perfectly well that racial minorities and generally poor people are more likely to be imprisoned; I'd be more than willing to be they're more likely to be executed, too, even when wealthy people commit worse crimes. On the other hand, there are people out there who are so horrible that they will never ever be constructive to society and that we would be better off without (Charles Manson comes immediately to mind).

Smooth.

Ok, try this. Suppose all the above happened and the evidence pointed to you having done it.

Still in favour?
