Opinions certainly are like assholes, everyone has one. Facts on the other hand are not the shit we merely spew out of our mouths, and are independent of our likes and or desires. To treat all claims as equal by default is to never empty our heads of bad claims.
If people treated their homes like they treated claims, their houses would be full of trash.

I think when people say they are entitled to their opinion, what they are trying to say is that they are entitled to the same respect for their opinion as anyone else and their opinion. You're entitled to hold your own opinion. You aren't entitled to respect for it and your holding it. Respect is earned, and if you and your opinion have done nothing to earn it, you aren't entitled to it.
