I'm not saying they're lying. We can't even verify if you have parents. No, the one doing all the lying is you.

I swear to God, and you know that means a lot to Christians, that my parents aren't lying.

She was under such peace by the angel's prescence she forgot about it. It was a peaceful experience, not one she kept thinking about. She uses that as varification that it happened, if she has just imagined it she wouldn't have been so calm.

Then your mother has some hallucination problem, or very vivid dreams.
Nothing to write home about.

Let us know when she has video footage of that angel.

It wasn't a dream, she asked my sister what they were talking about right before she left the room and it matched what she saw and heard. She even forgot about it and didn't tell my dad till late the next day, she should have been scared if she had just imagined it, but she says the peace of God was under her. I SWEAR she's not making this up, she seems so genuine when she says it and she NEVER lies.

Part of the problem with delusions and people who have them is that a lot of people who are having insane halucinations sincerely believe that they're real. That doesn't change the fact that talking to invisible beings (whether you call them 'Jesus,' 'God' or 'angels') is a sign of mental illness and should probably be treated.

Jesus said don't swear. Just let your "yes" mean yes and your "no" mean no.

Angels are using roofies, now?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

You do know that there are 1000's of people that you could go talk to, that claim with extreme sincerity, that they were abducted by aliens.

Do you believe them?

Just do a bit of research into how easy it is to fool the human mind in the right circumstance.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Quote:I swear on my LIFE my mom said she saw an angel.

Or she saw/experienced something she thought was an angel. I've seen tiny green men dance on a carpet in a hotel in London when I was having a major migraine attack, but they still weren't real.

Because they are brainwashed and think that they are telling the truth, because they are so far gone that they can't distinguish between reality and fantasy.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
