Or she saw/experienced something she thought was an angel. I've seen tiny green men dance on a carpet in a hotel in London when I was having a major migraine attack, but they still weren't real.

Do you have them often speak to you and give you advice on how to live your life? My parents OFTEN speak to God, it wasn't just a crazy one time thing.

Hang onto it. You might need it to dig out from under this blizzard of bullshit.

Do you believe them?

Just do a bit of research into how easy it is to fool the human mind in the right circumstance.

They're lying, I know my parents are telling the truth.

Not so. Most of them truly believe what they claim to have experienced.

That doesn't mean the only 2 choices are, that they really did have the experience, or that they are lying.

They could believe they really had the experience, but were fooled by their brains. Just like your mom.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

I don't hear voices, nor would I listen if dancing green men told me how to live my life. And if your parents frequently talk to disembodied voices, I say you have an even bigger problem, than if it was just a one time incident.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

What if you guys are wrong and you go to hell? Might as well pick SOME religion, there's nothing to gain by being an atheist.

Yeah, it's an ongoing, repeating crazy thing.

I'm thinking POE. Anyone else?

Threats from an invisible friend don't really scare me. I mean, are you afraid if we threaten to sic Odin on you?

Unfortunately, the reason Poe's law works is that there are actually people who think like this.

And my answer to Pascal's Wager is Kayenneh's Wager: It is safer not to believe in any deity, before it has been proven to exist. And frankly, hell is an idiotic concept, since it's subjective. I would hate to spend an eternity with sanctimonious simpletons in heaven. You're just jelly since we're going to have the best party ever in hell! *neener, neener!*

Yup. And I think you're a troll. Or do you have more "original" ideas you wanna try out?
