I think you're mistaken, not necessarily an idiot.

You get to determine that by deciding whether you want to have beliefs that you understand and can justify or if you are just willing to believe whatever someone in an authority position tells you.

I have changed my opinion about you several times the more you have posted. I don't think you're stupid. I actually think you are probably very smart, and that is why your parents don't want you to read the Bible. It sounds very much like your parents fear you asking questions of them, so they have created an environment where you never do.

Your parents are not infallible. They may have your best interests in mind, but sometimes they are wrong. I would suggest you request that they allow you to talk to a mental health professional who is properly licensed (read: not a church counselor) and has experience treating OCD. You could greatly improve your functionality and quality of life.

Thanks for the kind words. My parents do try and help with my OCD though. I've seen a few different people. One was a member of our church but still a highly regarded psychologist. Another was just a regular therapist but dosen't seem to know all that much about OCD. I talk to this woman on Skype now who has OCD, but she's not medically trained.

Let me give you an example: I have friends who believe pretty much the same things your parents believe. They are very intelligent people. Sure, I think they are delusional about their beliefs (and vice versa), but they certainly aren't idiots (and nor am I - I hope ) . These are two different things.

Thanks I'll do that. I know I've been a jerk, but I've been thought so much by people I know (not just my parents) that atheists are irrational and immoral, I just wanted to help you guys. But instead every argument I've had for Christianity has been debunked. I want to learn more about the stuff you guys are talking about, I know I don't even deserve to ask this but when I login again could someone here talk to me one-on-one via PM and help explain why atheists don't believe? Because right now I'm still confused about it, and I'm overwhelmed by all these people at once.

Sure man, feel free to PM me whenever you happen to be around. I might not be able to get back to you immediately since I think I'm on the other side of the world from you, but I'm more than happy to talk with someone honestly willing to learn. I'm sure there are plenty more that'll mirror that sentiment.

I don't think you're a jerk, but I do think you've been misled. Just think about some of these things yourself, do some research and don't blindly believe what anyone tells you; even us. I don't want you to blindly believe even what we tell you; do some researchon your own and figure it out yourself.

But don't feel bad about it. I think when I first encountered atheism it was 1999 and I was 20 years old (which really makes me feel like an old lady to say). I was kinda offended at the time that people could actually believe god/jesus doesn't exist or that the Bible could be wrong, but as I looked for evidence to back up what I said vs. the evidence they gave for what they said, I found my evidence lacking and their seemed to be pretty accurate.
