Whenever one scientist makes a claim other scientists all over the world go to work to prove that claim is bullshit. If they can't, the claim becomes accepted by mainstream science. If they can, the scientist that made the claim retracts it. Science. Self correcting, bitches.
Everything I needed to know about life I learned on Dagobah.
I never am left in shock over christian claims. I know by now that they are just cavemen. We know one thing that isn't a theory...THE EARTH IS OLDER THAN SHIT
I hate the bible. I love that do as thy whilst stuff.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Nor do many other brilliant Christians in the academy attack it. It is a refutation of the statement: "Christians attack evolution" It is a refutation because not all Christians attack evolution. Even if only one in the more than two billion did not attack, that alone would suffice in refuting the sweeping claim that Christians attack evolution. What he should have said is "Why some Christians attack evolution" or " Why a lot of Christians attack evolution". I have corrected his sweeping generalization that all Christians attack evolution. Surely he may say well I did not mean to imply all Christians. To which I would respond by saying you should ammend the thread title to be less ambiguous. For surely if I had said something to the effect of Why Atheists attack thus and so, I would more than likely have been accused of lumping all atheists together which is something I should not do because I do not know all atheists. All christians attack the growth of all people by putting all of their intellectual potential into being blinded by a fear of a flying spaghetti monster. Refute that, deidre stalker.

Wow Raul, so Scientists (unlike all other humans) are totally honest, never fudge data and take full responsibility for their errors? Supermen of a sort? And they never heard of Murphy's Law.

Simply put, many Christians deny evolution because it is evidence that the Bible is nonsense.
Evidence. It is an uncomfortable truth for them. You only need proof to validate science but not your "faith?" I guess I don't understand that line of reasoning. :/ (March 18, 2014 at 9:52 am)professor Wrote: Wow Raul, so Scientists (unlike all other humans) are totally honest, never fudge data and take full responsibility for their errors? Supermen of a sort? And they never heard of Murphy's Law. *Sigh.* For every scientist that fudges their numbers, there are a hundred more honest ones that gain a little more credibility whenever they debunk a fraud. It's good for one's career. Not to mention, science is best for one's career when it's, you know, applicable in real life and works: those that fudge their numbers or lie don't exactly have a way of monetizing that, do they? But of course, you don't know any scientists that have lied like that, do you? Nor do you have any reason for the majority of scientists to do so with evolution, right? You're just saying it, because when you have no real evidence to speak of, the only path left to you, when you want to keep your unevidenced opinions safe from interference by facts, is to accuse everyone of being in on a grand conspiracy, no matter how much such a thing works against the interests of the parties involved.
