He's surely on the road to grammatical perdition. It's managed by this fellow;

It's never too late to change your grammatically erroneous ways Rev, just accept Grammar Nazi Cat's lessons and you shall be saved.

Their deity isn't moral at all, because he doesn't have to be. He makes no bones about it, either; his words and actions remind us that he's the boss and he can fuck you up eight ways to Sunday if he's in the mood for it.

The Christian's morality has a single component: what does god command? That is why some of them refer to absolute or objective morals. Whatever god commands is moral. Whatever he does not command is immoral. No action is intrinsically right or wrong, good or bad. If a Christian man walked over to his neighbor's house and slaughtered the parents, pets, and sons and took the virgin daughters home today, he has committed an atrocious and immoral act... because god did not command it. Not because killing, kidnapping, or rape is wrong in and of itself, but because he was not acting under god's orders.

So if Rev is asking where we get our morals, he's really asking who it is we blindly obey. He feels that without god, we have no one to blindly obey, and therefore we cannot have morals. Because that is what morals mean to him.

Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

If you can read this posting then God is still offering you an opportunity to receive His Son the Lord Jesus. Repent and turn from your sins before it is too late. Jesus paid a great price on the cross so that we can be saved. Don't reject this wonderful gift. You will not regret making Him your Lord and Savior.

What exactly did Jesus die for if we have to repent of sin?
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.

I think you're about right here, because when I actively tried to ask Rev about this, instead of answering the question he got all evasive and accused me of trying to trap him, which just makes me think that the honest answer he'd have to give sounded pretty goddamn awful to the objective part of his brain. Of course he didn't stay dead, either. At least according to the story.

Indeed, his "sacrifice" consisted of a lousy weekend. Afterwards, he gave up the human costume he wore for a few years and was once again the most powerful being ever imaginable, which he will continue to be for eternity.

But I guess "he stubbed his toe for humanity" just doesn't carry the same weight.

I've decided to repent and turn to Hugh Jackman.

I know he exists.
