Where did the universe come from? Atheistic origin science has no answer.
Where did the universe come from? Atheistic origin science has no answer.
(May 8, 2014 at 1:41 am)snowtracks Wrote: the universe's purpose is being finalized with the human species in obtaining a high-tech global society. 13.75 billion years was required to make that happen. in the first 9.5 billion years heavy elements were manufactured from stellar furnaces; these elements are essential for the formation of heavy-metal-rich planets such as earth. took around the next 3.5 billion years for radiation sources to subside enough to permit elementary life; and around a billion years for plant and animal recycling to build up bio-deposits for energy.
so why all this time and resources for the human species? it provides a framework to introduce us to God and his attributes. it also introduces us to our human nature, some parts good, some not. what's not good is it has the capacity for sin and evil. it also causes us to run from God and even argue He really doesn't exist. God's plan is for individuals is to partake in the new creation but they need to accept the freely given remedy to deal with that sinful nature because it won't be allowed in the new creation. so we find ourselves undoubtedly in the last 1% of the universe's existence making a decision where we go from here.

Uh, ok. So you have no problem with the 13.75 billion year age of the universe, but ignore the 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 year estimate until the theoretical heat death of the universe?

Or the potential death of earth when the increased output of the sun causes our oceans evaporate in about 1,000,000,000 years?

Why would God create a planetary home for his most prized creation that wouldn't even survive to the end of the universe?

Do these numbers simply get too large for creationists, and they go "oops, 13 billion years? We must be at the end of that, ain't much time left"?

Chrsitainity at its heart is an apocalyptic death cult, so it is always at the "end times" and will be as long as people choose that particular brand of stupid.

the reason for the global high-tech society is not an end in itself but provides the necessary resources to fulfill the 'great commission' which is the message that salvation is a free gift. once that task has been completed, Christ the Creator will return to earth to wrap-up the conquest and removal of evil. the time-line is: this period, 7 years of tribulation, 75-day interval for preparation for the kingdom, 1000-reign of Christ on the earth, the great white judgment (books are open to show who had receive their free gift), destruction of the universe by fire, and then the new creation. so that's why i posted we're in the last 1% of the universe's history, actually way under 1% in astronomical time.
and no i didn't make it up. God reveal himself thru the 66 books of the bible which is His written revelation (100% accuracy in science, history, prophecies, and genealogy; and not contradictory).

And worship that god.
And come to be with it after death.... or else...

I wonder... did this god also put humanoids on other planets so it could enhance its worship-base and get even more minions?

Why can't the guy just come by and tell us all of that in a clear cut way?... most of us will be happy to comply.
if an entity stood right in front of someone and said he was God, that wouldn't constitute proof.

gee, didn't think that everyone would be upset of learning that universe has a purpose; thought they would be happy.

Which 66 books of the bible exist that contain no contradictions?

I do not think this is an accurate statement, but if you provide the 66 books I will grant you the courtesy of examining the materials you present in a thorough and open manner to see if I am in fact the one in error.

Thank you for your assistance in helping me understand your viewpoint.
NOT logic:
1. Claim to have logic
2. Throw a tantrum when asked to present it
3. Claim you've already presented it
4. Repeat step 1

I threw this together recently. You all can have/use/alter it.

Don't be silly; none of this even comes close to explaining the purpose of the universe, and can be heard from men holding cardboard signs and shouting at any train station.

You're like a guy who scams people with an offer of great wealth, then when he is confronted after his scam is revealed, says "gee, didn't think that everyone would be upset of learning that they were going to be rich; thought they would be happy."
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Don't confuse being upset at (not of) your revelations with annoyance at having to keep on pointing out that nothing you have said even comes close to demonstrating validity in your claims.

Anyone here familiar with the Daily Mirror cartoon strip The Perishers?

One storyline which ran for several issues involved the precocious brat character Baby Grumpling revealing he'd been vouchsafed information about the end of the world. Everyone else thought he was just being his trolling self, but then started wondering what if it's true? What if the world was about to end?

Then Baby G suddenly announced "the world will end at midnight tonight!" causing everyone to gather on the common, in a shocked and sullen silence, to witness the final moments. Until, that is, someone pointed out that it was now half past twelve.

As the angry mob chased Baby G down the hill, he yelled back "Wait... I thought you'd be pleased!"

See, we can entertain and discuss this stuff; but rational minds need something of substance to chew on in order to take a concept seriously. Protestations of injured innocence are ill-becoming of grown adults and are certainly not evidence of anything flattering.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Or conversely, none of this time or resources were expended for the benefit on the human species. We're just a lucky roll of the dice on the way to whatever the actual end result turns out to be.

nice try with the luck thing; but too many events that were spot on happened. when all added together, luck is not considered.

No, there weren't 'too many events that were spot on.' That's why it's taken billions of years and millions of extinct species to get even this far.
