Can aspergers sufferers get guns in the US? The article says he purchased them legally which to me seems insane.

England has a gun problem - its almost impossible to get one.

Quite frankly though, I don't think the issue is entirely due to the number of guns, as the figures don't mesh. For instance, New Zealand has a private gun ownership rate about a quarter than of the US, but the US has a deliberate gun homicide death 13 times that of ours.

Tentative Conclusion: USians like to shoot each other more than do Kiwis.

Might relate more closely to the proportion of handguns rather than rifles but I am not sure.

On the other hand if you are correct and USians just like to shoot each other - is a good idea to provide them with so many suitable tools for the job?

People have been trying to ban guns before the ink was dry on the Second Amendment. A large segment of the population would be very content to live in a rigid police state where they had no access to weapons and are searched every time they go out in public (Oh, that's the way it is now).
