Las Vegas shooting = Tea Party terrorism

Las Vegas shooting = Tea Party terrorism
Look at Jerad Miller's Facebook page. Look at his beliefs, which drove him and his wife to commit murder. You can catch his wife's on there, too.

We've listened to the Tea Party call for weapons hoarding and armed revolution against the government. We've heard them repeat sayings about the tree of liberty needing blood. For five years, we've listened to these people openly advocate violence and death in the interest of achieving their political goals.

Yesterday, a pair of Tea Partiers decided to do what the rest have been talking about. And we call it a senseless tragedy.

No. Not senseless. This was premeditated. This was promised to us for years and years. The idea of conservative 'patriots' murdering uncooperative Americans is so common, it's virtually the defining meme of the movement. And we act surprised that it actually happened.

We have an organization, however loose, that advocates violence and intimidation, and now we've finally had some of their members go and deliver on the promise. At what point do we cease the bullshit and identify these people as the terrorists they obviously are?

<sarcasm off>
People don't go to heaven when they die; they're taken to a special room and burned.

That's what people like you have been saying about the Taliban and Al Qaeda, even though the majority of their members have never been directly involved in any killing. The only fundamental difference between them and the Tea Party is that the latter doesn't have as high a body count yet.

Unless you count all the bodies from two illegal wars conservatives are responsible for, that is.

Well the president for those wars were started by good liberals JFK and LBJ and their wonderful escapade in Vietnam. Also there has been plenty of domestic leftwing terrorism in history.

And you'll never see me defend Vietnam as a just or necessary war.

There has never been a left-wing equivalent to the Tea Party in the United States in terms of numbers and political influence. Left-wing terror groups, such as they even were, always existed on the fringe.

We're not living in history. We're living in today, where the right wing of our political system advocates open revolt and the dismantling of whatever we have left that resembles democracy to the extent that it is open only to the right people. All, of course, in the names of the men who pioneered that system.

I'm not intimately familiar with the Tea Party, but I would wager that the majority of them are just like the majority of people everywhere. They just want to live normal lives, drink coffee and go about their daily business. What you are talking about is the fringe of the fringe and then extrapolating it to be the whole thing. A few Tea partiers say they want revolt so the whole thing wants revolt so the whole right wing wants revolt. It's kind of like as if I said the democratic party believes in flying saucers visited earth just because Denis Kucinich does. Also a quick google search brings up the Tea Party platform, which has no mention of open revolt. http://www.teaparty-platform.com/ It's fair to oppose an ideology, but you should do so because the ideology is flawed not to strawman them and almost literally hold millions of normal people responsible for murder because of a few wackjobs.

On a slightly different note, it's not super surprising to see a bunch of conspiracy theory crap on that guys facebook page.

A new detail emerges...

http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/09/us/las-veg...?hpt=hp_c2

Quote:Wilcox, who was in the store and who was carrying a concealed weapon, moved to confront the shooter. But he didn't realize Jerad Miller was not alone. Authorities say Amanda Miller shot Wilcox, killing him.

So, Rambo fantasies of gun nuts aside, apparently the only thing that can stop a good guy with a gun from stopping a bad guy with a gun is a bad woman with another gun.

A 'few' Tea Partiers includes several elected officials and famous media personalities watched by millions of people. I linked to several that I found in just a few minutes of searching. We just recently had a group of people in that same state ready to gun down federal agents in the name of this ideology, and they were spurred on and given encouragement by major media sources.

How long can we count on them being too lazy to start doing shit like this on a large scale?
