An unorthodox belief in God.

I'm sorry sir you're just funny. Please don't take my lack of faith in your ability to read directions on a tylenol bottle or be left to feed my cat-- as anything more than what it is. I think you're wilfully ignorant.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I understand lack of faith, I have none either.

Same reason medieval houses hired court jesters.

It's entertaining to watch someone deliberately and proudly display their failures.

Have you ever given a life threatening illness up to god with so much faith that you'd deny ineffective treatments at deaths door because you literally gave all your faith to god? Did your pastor tell you god might have already healed you/might just need time to work without mankind's intervention? Did you pray for months and decide that in a choice of life or death, you choose god?

No?

Ok then. So that's it? 'Nope' with a dash of 'martyr complex' as a a loosely defined rebuttal?

Head up, good soldier. You don't even know where you're going or why.

Good luck with that. Sisyphus had it easier, I'm sure.

I have no pastor, I don't need one. I have a doctor, for the last 10 years I have needed her.

I have no need for a teacher ; I like my own consciousness.

I'm pretty sure I speak for a few others here when I say that argumentum ex culo doesn't cut ice.

Also, you should do your preaching elsewhere. Skeptics such as the membership here usually have "why" on the tips of their tongues. Best you be able to answer that, or get ready for ridicule.

I do not know god, never seen him or heard his voice, but I can read. The bible has definite clues.

The Bible? You mean the one that says that pi=3, and that bats are birds? That Bible? No, citing the Bible as support for belief in god is silly.

Aside from its nonfactuality, citing the Bible to support a belief in your god is like citing the murderer's protestations of innocence in justifying setting him free: it's not only circular reasoning, it also ignores the vast wealth of confession, in the selfsame screed, of wholesale evil.

I don't wish you to leave, at all. I hope you stay, and remain unbanned, so that young atheists who are just discovering their cognitive abilities can see firsthand exactly how your vapid arguments should be answered.

In short, you are not a gadfly; you are a practice session, and I sincerely hope you stay here. How else shall we teach young atheists to counterpunch, without a speedbag like yourself?

If I were you, I would not throw any new atheist at me, 20 of you old ones are having enough problems with me as it is; you'd better rethink that one.

Except that you have based a ton of assertions on your faith in a religious worldview, and can't support them objectively.

The failure is your's to understand me. A serious error in judgment.

It would be a serious error in judgement to take any of your unsupported assertions and demonstratively wrong claims seriously.

Now keep dancing, you're boring the court.

Over used rehearsed atheist response; beginning to sound like a broken record!

Yes you are. You can't support your claims, so you just repeat them.

And stop calling me an atheist, jester.
