An unorthodox belief in God.

:rolls eyes: I've heard this a million times by now I'm sure!

have you ever read this per chance?

if not, then this book would be right up your alley. Its a book written by a cultist.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

And you know this how? Do you actually think you know the mind of your Creator god?

I'm pretty sure I speak for a few others here when I say that argumentum ex culo doesn't cut ice.

Also, you should do your preaching elsewhere. Skeptics such as the membership here usually have "why" on the tips of their tongues. Best you be able to answer that, or get ready for ridicule.

I totally disagree with ever last one of those who signed that declaration, they are an embarrassment to realist; elephants, chimps and octo's are not conscious beings. Their animals, beasts; nothing more.

I've pointed this out multiple times in this thread, which you have promptly ignored. Perhaps a video would help:

In September of 2012, a panel of leading Neuroscientists convened in Cambridge to announce scientific consensus that non-human animals are indeed conscious:

The Psychology Today article outlining the consensus:

I totally disagree with this shameful deception of professionals who signed that, they KNOW animals are not conscious.
Yes, we know you reject scientific knowledge when it disagrees with your religious belief system.

Do you have any supporting evidence of this assertion, or are you simply "nuh-uh"ing facts again due to the Dunning-Kreuger effect that leads you to believe your opinion outweighs the research of leading Neuroscientists worldwide?

Or is this yet another example of you proudly displaying your ignorance of scientific facts?

I do not know god, never seen him or heard his voice, but I can read. The bible has definite clues. I am not a preacher, and I understand your desire for me to leave; I can be a headache on those who dare try and embarass me, instead of thinking with me.

I am curious, why do you keep reading what a lump of lard has to say?

Sure I have evidence, if I may use you and you're picture of a parrot; which is a prime example of consciousness, you or the bird?

The answer, as well as the evidence is academic.

Same reason medieval houses hired court jesters.

It's entertaining to watch someone deliberately and proudly display their failures.
