Hey, real quick: name one other scenario in which a person or group of people's religious liberties include the right to dictate to other people what they can use their rightful compensation for their work on. Just one.

I'll wait.

We have a situation where the government has dictated that employers must give as compensation for labor contraception coverage and that employees must receive as compensation for labor contraception coverage. Your question does not make any sense at all because the dictating isn't being done by people excercising their religious liberties. The dictating is being done by liberaltardic elitest who feel compelled to try to run everyone elses lives.

Uh, the government is kinda supposed to make the rules? That's... what we elect them for? Thinking

Meanwhile, you're trying to characterize this as a scenario in which a potential violation of Hobby Lobby's religious rights was averted, and so I'm asking you where in the free exercise of religion is the provision about inflicting those religious beliefs onto others and dictating what can be done with their fairly earned compensation?

Actually, corporations are legal instruments used by people to limit their liability to their investment. Everything else has been twisted into fashion by conservatives with an agenda.

Here's my prediction.

If the GOP takes the Senate, they'll begin impeachment proceedings against Obama and Biden under whatever pretext they can manufacture.

...and that will make John Boehner president for the remaining term.

As far as I am concerned the solution to this problem is simple. If Hobby Lobby doesn't want to purchase contraception coverage don't force them too. Just require Hobby Lobby to give each employee a per diem equivalent to what it would cost Hobby Lobby to provide such coverage. The employee can then spend that money they way they choose.....let the employee buy their own contraception coverage.

You liberals won't go for that because you always want to force your way of life onto others.

I keep seeing this posted Heywood....all over the webs..but yes, peoples rights do "disappear" when they incorporate, but not by magic, and they're the one's requesting that this should happen (in return for legal and financial protection from and for those holdings). Does this particular right "dissappear", no, apparently not, so sayeth scotus.

I like your solution though. So I guess that means that liberals will go for that?

Corporations have more advantages than just liability protection. They can issue stock to raise capital....They hve perpetual existence...etc.

The point is corporations are simply tools of people. Its the people utilizing the corporate business structure that have rights. Hobby Lobby could have restructed itself as a sole proprietorship and under Obamacare the owners would still need to engage in an activity that violated their religious beliefs. The fact that the business was structured as a corporation has nothing to do with whether or not Obamacare as implemented violates peoples free excercise of religion.

Honestly, that would be fine with me.

Gotta say though, if we did either give a rebate or allow a per diem then I fail to see what motivation Hobby Lobby (or anyone else) would have had for bringing this to trial anyway - they wouldn't have been able to save a dime, their quarterlies wouldn't have improved. :throws hands in the air:
