Evidence for an evolutionary process is obvious and plentiful, but of course, creating amino acids in a lab is far from creating a living creature. It also doesn't in any way rule out a creator. It may be true, but it's a lousy argument to use to try to deny the existence of God. By the way, I went to a catholic school for my first eight years and was taught evolution in science class. I guess if some kids are home schooled, they could have this kind of science hidden from them. But I believe they need to pass qualification testing in science to move on and graduate. I don't know of any schools that don't teach evolution.

I don't know of any schools that don't teach evolution. I certainly wouldn't argue that evolution disproves god. But it comes up often on these forums because Fundamentalists so often believe that evolution would disprove their conception of god. Which is why the Bible Belt has so many creationists trying to "teach the controversy" in schools. I don't base my lack of belief in god on evolution. I base it on lack of evidence of god.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
My favorite evolution website has for the last fifteen years been http://www.talkorigins.org. They are detailed, thorough, and extremely well-documented.

This thread is in the science section, not the religion one. Chill out.

It is not that I don't want to believe. Lately, scientists are coming up with many different theories (such as multi-universe) to explain the impossible odds they are being faced with. Sorry to disappoint you, but no, it doesn't. Here's a list of numerous examples. Funny, how you said what you did, apparently without doing any research first. Oh, and I warn you: don't come back here and say "Oh, but dogs still give birth to dogs, and cats give birth to cats! We've never seen a fish give birth to a monkey!" That's not what evolution says would happen and, incidentally, would actually disprove evolution as it did. I implore you, be the one evolution denier in all of history to do some research and repair your ignorance of the subject before you respond.
