I really get more lectures for being a bad Christian than anything. Some people in my life just refuse to accept reality.

Something I find annoying are those Christians that label anyone who was baptized as catholic, so if you are an atheist you're a bad catholic/christian, and you can't be anything else

My family usually just labels everyone as a Christian. You can be a good Christian, a bad Christian, or in denial. Haha

Luckily my mum doesn't hate atheists very much, I'd say the worst thing I could to to her would be to convert to Islam, she hates muslims with a passion. I hope one day I'll come out of the closet, I think reactions won't be that bad as I'm thinking they will

When my aunt became a Muslim I literally popped myself a bag of popcorn and silently enjoyed the insanity in my parents living room. Yea we had a family meeting about it lol.

I think there's a whole rigmarole of paperwork you can go through to officially renounce Catholicism and everything that goes with it, so there'll be no doubt of your atheism.

It doesn't make a difference, the act of baptizing is for me insignificant, my parents never sent me to religious education or anything so I'm not registered in the church as a pure catholic, only as an imperfect one.

i am... i made a reply video to a guy and he went nuts about me in a video now i keep having to reply back because of the stuff he says about me.

The only time I've ever had a "fight" with someone over religion was online with a woman I didn't know who friended me on facebook because (I guess) she liked the crafty things I was posting. Then I kept getting spammed with all of her "I love Jaysus!" and "God is Great!" posts. The final straw was when she started in on the "Keep the Christ in Christmas!" bullshit, so I started commenting on her posts about how Christmas and the iconic things we think of when we think of Christmas have their roots in pagan celebrations, and I started spamming her back with images like "Keep the Yule in Yuletide!"

She lost her shit and we went a couple rounds back and forth before she unfriended me.

No loss to my life.

IRL, tho, very few people know I'm an atheist because it never comes up. I don't go around proclaiming what I don't believe in, hence I don't really suffer harassment.
