Disney already did. It's called "Dog With a Blog." Ugh!

No, he wasn't. They've taken the premise and tweaked it just enough to attempt to disguise that they're just recycling scripts. The Disney channel is littered with this type of tripe.

They're a con designed to get your money from you: "I make movies for teenage boys. Oh, dear, what a crime."(Michael Bay). You are talking to a guy who literally has a library of films and knows the worst from the best. What you have said is rather circular in that you say you do not criticize Michael Bay for making simple actions films but you then criticize him for being simplistic which is the norm of action films. I am not even a Bay fan as I only recall seeing Transformers but he still did a good job with the 1st film RE: I've just been raped.

I do not criticise him for making action films, I criticise him for making the same pile of shit time and time again, with the exact same script, with the exact same, simplistic often misogynistic undertones inherent within them. You can have a simple story line done well (for me, dredd), and you can have one done bad (all transformers films). It depends on how the director and the editors et al approach the story in its entirety, from beginning, through the arc, to the conclusion. There's no evidence of any of that in The transformers films. Just any excuse to get forgettable robots onto the screen for 2 hours bashing each other. I can only imagine that the editor(s) in the TF films were paid a lot of money being faced with the prospect of editing a 60 minute long action sequence where nobody can really tell what's happening. It's down to personal taste, naturally. I completely agree with mark kermode when he says that if bay wasn't a film director (however that happened) he'd be a porn film director, owing to the way he approaches everything in an overtly simplistic and often mind numbingly boring manner just to get to the fucking. Nothing wrong with that per se, but let's not convince ourselves that he's anything other than a cinematic hack on par with Adam Sandler. Love atheistforums.org? With all the Michael Bay bashing I still have to say "Armageddon" is a guilty pleasure of mine. So much of what makes his films bad are in this one as well, but it's just fun to watch.

No amount of justification attempts("I make movies for teenagers," really?) will cover the fact that Michael Bay is an absolute hack that would be out of a job if people weren't gullible enough to pay 30 dollars to see some scripted explosions.

He makes fun films. They are pleasurable, mindless and fun. He has rarely attempted to take his own films seriously(Pearl Harbor is the obvious exception). He essentially makes 80's video games if you think about it. Before video games became all "story orientated" and treated like dramas they were mindless creations intended to amuse the eyes. Michael Bay does exactly this. I have an expectation when it comes to Michael Bay, he only does one thing very well and that is blow the absolute fuck out everything in a 3 mile radius of himself. Oh and trust me, I have very low expectations for Michel Bay and he does have an impressive list of shitty films but when he does his usual thing then I am happy. Another director/producer that reminds me of Bay is Zack Snyder. He is only capable of doing 1 thing very well but I admit Michael Bay exceeds his limits often times. Again, Pear Harbor is the most notable example.
You sound an awful lot like a Bay fan for a non-Bay fan. They really are horrible movies...

Actions films are by default very simplistic. I would need a physicist to sum up all of the action films revolving around revenge stories. What Michael Bay does is inherently simplistic, so I like many others do not look for an original story line although the concept of robots creating havoc on screen is original for Americans(common occurrence in Japan). I do agree with the misogony. Being asexual I notice this stuff a lot and this is why I cannot look at certain scenes in transformers. Megan Fox in daisy dukes on a bike........, tis fugly I say. I do not even like sex scenes in films yet alone scantly clad women although I do make an exception for Sigourney Weaver |
