Article: Would the world be better off without religion?

Article: Would the world be better off without religion?
Quote:The widespread assertion that the world would be better off without religion is a reasonable hypothesis. Yet data suggest that skeptics should attach no more than a modest level of probability to it.

No if there was no god people would rape and kill all the time... Just kidding, my answer is yes. But I don't agree with making religion illegal, I prefer letting it fade away slowly trough natural enlightenment of the human race

I have no need of asking this question for I do not envision a world without religion.

I envision a world where the role of religion is such that the question "is the world better off without religion" would become about as weighty as "is the world better off without daytime soap opera", and would likely generate similar sensible answers.

Delusion is integral to fuckheadhood. You may deprive them of one, and they would instantly substitute another.

Yes, but some wouldn't be able to live knowing no god exists and that there is nothing after we are dead.

And others would lose it. It goes both ways and the result wouldn't be unanimous throughout the world
