How much respect you give something is a matter of personal choice. My thinking may or may not be religious but yours is clearly errant. The question is not about how much respect you give inanimate objects. The question at hand is this: Does the constitution give one person the freedom to desecrate something belonging to another person. I think you realize it does not but just don't want to admit you are wrong. So you take this silly position that its not okay to desecrate a human body....but it is okay to desecrate a religious symbol that belongs to someone else.....cause thats not important to you.

The kid is being charged with a misdemeanor. If convicted its doubtful the kid will serve any time and it won't show up on any background check.

If he is nailed for 2 years that could very well sabotage his life, weither or not he gets a record.

Of course how much you respect something is your choice. I'm saying the punishment doesn't fit the crime. I'm saying the punishment for humping a dead body should be more severe than the punishment for humping paint and plaster. Those are not equal crimes. Two years is too severe for this teen.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

Well I agree the DA shouldn't be messing with it other than to perhaps just threaten the kid....."listen punk...we'll let it go this time....but if you keep pulling this shit....we will prosecute". Those of you saying its unconstitutional to prosecute this kid....I'm afraid your flat out wrong.

You'd think they would make him apologize to the statue and give it a hug, since physical contact and gestures towards an inanimate statue matters to them.
