Were I to hold a belief, or set of beliefs, that evidence shows me might not reflect reality, guess what I would do? I would do the rational thing and change my belief.
The flexibility to be shown to be wrong is called being openminded. Without wishing to sound patronising, this is quite a vital life skill that you're going to need to survive after you leave school.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Beliefs aren't usually described or evaluated in terms of being true and proven. They are either justified or they are not. I think we've gone over this before.
