Was Jesus a God or a man?

In other words, you only hold God to human standards when it's convenient for you to think of him as merciful, just, good, etc. But when, without impunity, he's depicted as a murderous, racist, homophobic piece of shit, well, who can really say for sure?

Oh no, not at all, I didn't mean to communicate that. Just that Jesus WAS Human, therefore I can appropriately subject him to human standards. But God is not human, he is a far from human, and human standards and thought wouldn't be applicable without the aspects of being a human being.

We stoped evolving? Where did she got this? From Neon genesis Evangelion?

Because last time I checked we are still evolving:

Sure they would, he'd be an "x" fairy, as opposed to an "x" human being. You're not going to gain any traction with this at all, especially after the might/right bit.

Rhythm. Trust when I say I honestly don't mind if our worldviews conflict. That's just the way it is. You can believe what you want and I can believe what I want. You will be who you are and I will be who I am. And that's perfectly fine.

So, you're saying we can say nothing about God except what people wrote in regards to the character of Jesus?

"But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me."

That Jesus, right?

No it's not "the way it is" - it's the way you wish for it to be. Take a little responsibility Hez. I can't call this perfectly fine either - these things you've offered, and this final excuse are the seeds of misery that have been played out over and over throughout human history. Peace and love between people my ass.

I don't see what I've done to offend you. I wasn't trying to force my beliefs on you, I was simply discussing why I believe what I believe. I take full responsibility for my personal beliefs by walking in love and peace with others. Granted I'm not perfect, your right. I don't always do that well, but I want to strive to communicate that despite our differing worldviews I still value and respect you as an individual. And if I have failed to show you that I would humbly apologize for my inability to do so accurately.

I find the faux humanitarian bit absurd - not offensive. You want to show me some respect, try not to follow up special pleading with might makes right, seguing into peace and love - credit me with just a little bit of intelligence. That was never going to fly, and I'm at least comfortable with assuming that you're smart enough to have known this.

The respect of a person who's seen fit to offer the "worldview" you've put forward in this thread means very little to me.

According to my faith, yes and no. Yes because the Bible, as everyone knows, is understood to Christians as being "God-breathed" or "God-inspired" and adequate for teaching, rebuking, etc. But on the other hand (and this is all Christian belief still) the magnificence of the universe and nature testify to the goodness and power of God so "we are without excuse". But this all coming for the New Testament, which is why I humorously answered yes and no. Smile
