God's "perfect" Plan

That is what makes me angry more than anything else about religion.

A persons belief in a god or gods is personal.

Bu tthat people can maintain that Genesis is true in spite of all the evidence against it staggers me.

Then you see the lies and half truths they are prepared to perpertrate in order to support that belief.

In one forum discussion I was having I asked if the universe was only 6000 years old why did it appear

to be billions of years old.

The creationist replied that god made it "look" old.

When I made the point that this mean't that god was the greatest of all liars since he was deceiving us

all with a hoax universe I got no answer.

Well think of it this way, because of those reasons stated by you, they will NEVER defeat Evolution, and that's the main goal from the creationist movement, to defeat Evolution. But we all know that it's not going to happen. Sometimes, religious peoplejust don't understand what religion is. Religion is NOT reality, Science is. Science is the study of things in the natural world and basically in nature. Religion can't be reality because it involves the supernatural and superstition, and that's not nature and not reality. They can have their 2000 year-old beliefs if they want, but when they talk of the real world, religion just makes them look stupid.

But remember, they claim that faith is more powerful than evidence and proof. It's like saying "as long as I have faith, the moon is shaped like a triangle.

Or that he is imaginary. Take your pick.

What about both?

Fuck him. And the horse he rode in on.

BTW, if pictures are so verboten, how come we have these islamic paintings of the bearded wonder?

An example.

Quote:Mohammed receiving his first revelation from the angel Gabriel. Miniature illustration on vellum from the book Jami' al-Tawarikh (literally "Compendium of Chronicles" but often referred to as The Universal History or History of the World), by Rashid al-Din, published in Tabriz, Persia, 1307 A.D. Now in the collection of the Edinburgh University Library, Scotland.

I guess that part of the 'unchanging' and 'inerrant' word of god hadn't been written yet?

"Miniature" is not forbidden as regular paintings. its just an old trick some artists found to perform their art.(and this is a part of god's perfect plan..)

He plans abortions, he plans rape, he plans murderer, he plans poverty, he plans suffering, he planned the Holocaust, he planned 9/11, and all of that. If he planned everything, then that means that we are all brainwashed, and that we are doing what he wants us to do and that we have not free will. What do you all think about this so-called God's "perfect" plan.
God knows everything but he has given us the freedom to obey or disobey him. The evil in the world occurs because all of us have chosen to disobey rather than do what he wants us to do.
His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

But being omniscient surely he would've seen this coming and wouldn't punish us for it, us being his mistake.
