I'm one of the "makers", my recent financial storm that I recently weathered notwithstanding. I run a small business and keep 15 people employed.
So he can take my word for it that I'm not going to hire anyone else because I have a bunch of extra money lying around as a result of a tax cut.
If I have extra money, I'm going to save it, not give it to some worker I don't need to employ.
The only reason I would hire anyone else is because I need to do so in order to meet increasing demand.
The only way demand will increase is if the middle class and poor people start spending more money.
The only way they will start spending more money is if they're doing financially well enough that they can.
Therefore, a stronger middle class and a more secure poor will drive demand and encourage me to hire more people.
This is why tax cuts for the rich fail.
Money naturally trickles up, not down, in a capitalist economy.
Did I go slow enough for him?
