Because you see mountains were not always mountains and deserts were not always deserts. When you lose the stupid fucking idea that the earth is 6,000 years old (which only exists because of some drunken irish bastard) and actually learn some stuff all would become clear. You will have to put your bible in the trash for that learning to happen, though.
