When faith tries to answer a simple question.
|
A universe, with a constant amount of energy, that always existed and will never end should, at the very least, point to the existence of something supernatural. Scientific laws are inadequate to explain how something could have always just been there. If the universe is constantly expanding, what space is it expanding into? Do you just come to a wall that is the edge of the universe? If so, what is beyond that wall? It seems quite logical to assume that there forces that exist which are not part of our natural world. Science and math are not capable of answering these questions.

We don't know that that is the case, so the conclusion is premature. Quote:Scientific laws are inadequate to explain how something could have always just been there. Yet. Quote:If the universe is constantly expanding, what space is it expanding into? That shows a misunderstanding of the theory. Why does it have to be expanding into anything? Quote:Do you just come to a wall that is the edge of the universe? The universe may well be finite but without bounds. Think of the surface of a sphere: it has a finite area, but no edge. The universe may me a 4-dimensional hypersphere. Quote:If so, what is beyond that wall? See above. Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
It is not a facade. He is dim.

So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

The universe may me a 4-dimensional hypersphere. I think 4-dimensional is an example of endless, rather than infinite. You could keep travelling through it forever, but that universe could still sit in the middle of something else. The universe either has boundaries or it is infinite. It also always existed or it came into existence at some finite point. Quote:You keep going all "god of the gaps" on us. Please stop as it just makes you look dim. I'm not going "god of the gaps, but rather "God of everything" Why couldn't the universe have been created by supernatural forces? I've got plenty of personal testimonies given over thousands of years and I have God himself living within me. You're being awfully closed-minded aren't you? Especially so when you don't have the answers. (November 16, 2014 at 4:19 pm)Minimalist Wrote: It is not a facade. He is dim. Coming from you Mini, that's a compliment. Does this mean we are not supposed to be sacrificing virgins any more?
Whew! Thank goodness, they are getting harder to find.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.
