Because no matter what color we see in our mod cons they are not naturally occouring and as such require to be apart of a manufacturing process. The same manufacturing process that is stripping this planet of all its resources. Even simple farming of our perfered foods strips the soil of its natural resources, keeping naturally occouring plant life the material it needs to grow. That is why we use fertilizers.

So again either you have to get use to eating grass and tree bark, or accept that you not only love the command God gave us to subdue this world, that you don't know how to live any other way.

It wasn't so much an insult but an observation describing the two polar opposite type of posts you can appearently produce. It seems you have practiced or given great thought to your insults and not so much to... Everything else.

Its much more of the fact only insult i make rash explanations of why people have that mindset. there is always those people who say the end is nigh and are fourth coming with it. its to a point where its not possible by any stretch of the imagination to guess when its going to happen. lets see failed end of the world prophecies. 1999 going to the year 2000 the world was supposed to end because people though computers would have a issue going to the year 2000. Oh the second coming of jesus christ never happened and what a shocker he won't be coming back. The war of Armageddon failed still a holy war going on in the middle east it doesn't matter. The anti christ was supposed to be here no he isn't well looking great so far. The Tribulation, a seven year interval of great suffering and death, not happening but third world countries always seemed to be in trouble. The rapture... no didn't see anyone flying upwards into the sky.
Some horrendous natural disaster.... its the earth get real shit always happens. <- you see where i am getting at Dirch the whole idea of the world ending as we know it currently won't happen in our life times at all.

No matter how many people and or religion predicts the end of the world it simply isn't going to end by supernatural means at all. the general predictions meaning. Wars famine hunger and in general people doing evil and not believing in x or y or z god the world is ending. its to much of general guess when because in reality the world would have ended already but we are still here and alive.

He had to drive a '79 Jeep Cherokee to school for two months, a piece of shit that was still better than the piece of shit I drove! After that, he was back to driving Lexuses.

Let's assume for a moment that God does exist. You're essentially saying that Big Daddy isn't going to care that you are willfully trashing what he gave you. Christianity is the spoiled little prick who thinks that nothing matters since 'Daddy' will just buy me a new one.

The problem with your analogy is the word, or rather your understanding of the word "Trashing." We were told to subdue or to conquor this world. Meaning we have been commanded to tame the wild things, to destroy our predators to harness the forces He put into place in this world and have them work for us.

For God and his people all these things are a good things.

For hippies and people who hate God they have no eternity to look forward to, no 'New Heaven/New Earth to live in. This is all they have. So, as other poorer nations enter into the industrial age, resources become spread too thin. So inorder to perserve their hippy way of life, a segement of the self righteous calls the rest of the population to set a better example so that these population rich resource poor nations do not consume everything in sight as 'we' did through our industrial age. If they did their would not be enough resources to go around.

Which again is a problem if this world in your only home.

Dirch look at it this way imagine your building something and its a great wonder and you want people to like it and take care of it. you come back its trashy its ruined no one is really taking care of it and those who are doing a okay job at it. trashing the earth and leaving it trashed is a bad thing because if god did exist he would be angry that so much is going on and that humanity just really dominated the earth pretty much pushing nature back and deforesting doesn't help we need trees and plants to live oxygen doesn't make itself. I care about the environment but who knows when i'm gone i wan't some to enjoy living and breathing clean air.

I'm wondering if the end of Christian influence at least is closer than we think. A while back I saw a poll that read about 7% of self-described Christians don't believe in god. The number varied by denomination, but this seems fairly believable. What's more, it claimed 23% of the self-described Jews polled answered that they did not believe in god. I find this striking. One of the problems with polls that came up in a statistics class I took was what's called the halo effect, the desire to give socially acceptable answers and this skew data. This leads me to believe that the number of atheists is actually larger than reported.

But it is more than that. Even here in OK the privilege of Christianity is being called out. The persecution of non-beliebers is being challenged and stopped. And those in the Crain camp are screaming all the louder while more and more the tide turns against them.

So are we seeing the death throes of Christian dominance? I don't know. I think so. I hope so.

people who don't believe in god pretty much choose to say they are because well atheists are not the most liked group in america or in religious families.
