Yeah. I'm glad I hunted down and killed every last one.

And all the fairys.

And all the gods.

That was me. You see babies do have some indication of a mother, which is not surprising since there is one. But we have no indication of god, probably because there isn't one.

I could write stories forever in which people make correct guesses without knowing or having evidence. But they are just stories. What's cool is when real people deduce something they can't see based on evidence and then test their hypothesis and find that it's true. That kind of story needn't be faked. It's science. And it happens all the time. Wild lucky guesses, not so much.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

How can you even say this? People have been worshiping gods since our beginnings, since it is evident in the creation. People have always sensed that there must be a god.

People have also worshipped cats. Cats are nice.

The fact that people have been worshipping gods is an indication of a belief in gods, not the existence of the gods themselves.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

There are completely natural, evidence based, explanations on why humans have been believing gods for our history.

And none of them require that any actual gods exist.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

You're kidding right? I hope so, but suspect not.

Some people have been doing this since our beginnings. Some people believe they sense some god. People have believed all manner of crazy shit over the centuries. Has no bearing on whether those things are true or not.

Millions up millions have not been worshiping a god and don't sense a damn thing. What about them?
