Quote:Cotton is scheduled to appear at an “Off the Record and strictly Non-Attribution” event with the National Defense Industrial Association, a lobbying group for defense contractors, less than 24 hours after the letter was sent, reported The Intercept.
The first-term senator is known as a foreign policy hawk, particularly on Iran.
Cotton said in December that Congress should consider supplying Israel with B-52 bombers and “bunker-buster” bombs – which are manufactured by NDIA member Boeing – for a possible military strike on Iran.
Other NDIA members include Northrop Grumman, L-3 Communications, ManTech International, Oshkosh Defense, and Booz Allen Hamilton.

Min, Min, Min. Haven't you yet realized that libertarianism *IS* made up rules for rich friends. That's the whole point of it. [/friendly feigned chiding]
Libertarianism is drawing a bunch of arbitrary lines defining what is claimed to be the "proper role of government" and then the defined roles are treated like a bunch of self-evident axioms.
"Police force to keep order"
Libertarianism: "Hmmm, rich people like that. GOOD!"
"Standing army"
Libertarianism: "Hmmmm, rich people like that too. GOOD!"
"Government health care"
Libertarianism: "Hmmmm, rich people can get their own health care. BAD!"

Too fucked up even for other republicunts? I never thought I'd see the day. Obviously, these two dissidents will have to go.

“I’m a conservative Republican, but I don’t think that it’s necessarily COMMUNIST TO MAKE BUSINESSES PAY FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF DOING BUSINESS IN YOUR STATE, particularly one with abundant natural resources such as Louisiana,” he continued. “Average citizens pay for the privilege of using resources of the state so business should also.”
Yeah - these two can expect primary opposition from true-blue and stupid republicunt morons.

Why take an issue that is agreed upon unanimously and shove in laguage about an utterly unrelated issue whose only effect will be to completely stymie any possibility of passing the bill?

It's a bill that strengthens our abilities to find and counter human trafficking, but the GOP just has to throw in anti-abortion language in there. For what purpose? Did they think nobody would notice?

Jindal's embrace of Norquist and his minions is all about positioning himself "correctly" with the Tea Party idiots come primary season and has jack shit to do with what is right for this state. Jindal's a fucking little punk, and I look forward with pleasure to watching him get disemboweled in the run-up to the general election.
I get spam at work from the Jindal people fairly regularly. Reading their stuff is surreal -- a bit like standing on the deck of a clipper ship caught in the doldrums while the Captain points to the slack sails and exclaims, "We're making good time, boys! And you have me to thank for this wind."

Did you see McCain's defense of signing it? Literally pulled a Mr. Magoo and claimed to not really know what he was signing because he "signs a lot of letters".

I'm convinced that fuckhead has dementia.
And I cringe every time some dipshit calls him a war hero. He got shot down and captured. Being a POW is tough but where does the "hero" part come in?

Can you imagine the cries of treason if Democrats had done something similar under Dubya?
