I made a gas fire pit out of an old pallet that had been sitting in the backyard.
The pallet
The table
The day a drill bit snapped and punctured my thumbnail.
The final product
I also made my coffee table out of a couple palets. They were brand new when I started working with them. I had to stain them to make them look rustic. While sanding it down, I managed to get a toothpick sized splinter info my finger and it had to be surgically removed! My wife is a nurse mind you, and this was one week after drilling my thumb!

Parkers Tan,
Your first poem perfectly describes my relationship with my coworkers
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

These are two of my most recent. The first is a more or less basic six string, but the back (didn't save the pics of it, sorry) is made with a triangle centre section, which give an unusually clear sound in the lower registers. The second is 'spider cone' style resonator. The woman I made it for has some issues with wrist strength, which is why there's such a deep cutaway. Good tone with a looooong sustain.

Okay, noticing that my pic of my self-built SG is getting new some attention for reasons I don't really understand, I figure I may as well post a pic of the bass me and Dad are building from a kit.
The thing is STEM has a workshop where people can build a guitar and using the very rough design and the principles of engineering, build a guitar. Progress, however, is getting kind of slow.
It's a fretless bass because, quite frankly, I prefer the tone of an upright, and any way I can get closer to the tone of that without sacrificing the portability of a bass guitar, I'll take it.
I'm naming it Jaco after the famous master of the fretless bass:

Thanks, bud. I play all the instruments on "Adelaide" and "5-0" -- drums were done playing to a click track using an old PCM keyboard for drum tones. I did all bass, keys, and guitar, as well.
On "Going Tharn" the bass was played by Tim D, a longtime collaborator and brotha. I played everything else.
Thanks so much for the kind words.
