Poor Tommen... he's 8, in the books... he's king only in name, but his mother rules.
He's.. what?.. 11? in the show? Still too young to rule and his mother would rule in his stead... actually, if this was in feudal Europe, back in the day... I guess Tywin's brother, Tommen's uncle, would rule until Tommen came of age. "We cannot have a woman in a man's place!"

The actor who plays Tommen (17 years old) said he's trying to play Tommen as a 12 year old.

At this point this is a dangerous thing to say, but almost anyone would be better than Cersei.

Plus she starts looking older and gains a bunch of weight because she's chugging down wine all the time, which has been referred to a few times in the show. The changes to her appearance only serve to make her even more insecure and paranoid and volatile.
