Yes! I had only seen him on the West Wing previously (and Blade Runner as it turns out I had forgotten), and he's really great.

Hate the new version. Wasn't particularly enamoured of the original, but that at least had action and precious little in the way of soap opera plots. Seriously, I tried to watch the pilot of the 'reboot' (stupid term). I kept watching, thinking "something's bound to happen in a minute" and I was still thinking that when it suddenly ended. I didn't bother with part two. The original was bargain basement Star Wars - you know, like the prequels - but at least things happened.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

The old version was Star Wars for Christians. The new version was Babylon 5 for Christians.

Star Wars is Star Wars for Christians. Remember the nonsense about the "Force." It is not an atheistic franchise at all. Battlestar Galactica is for Mormons.

The original came out before I was born so the reboot is all I've seen. I thought it was great. I didn't have any problem with the religious/supernatural nature of some of the story arcs because it's fiction (That's where it belongs!). And until the last few episodes they kept it under control. I'd give re-imagined BSG 8/10.

The notion that the force has a dark side hardly seem Christian, nor the notion that force is channeled through some "miticlorian" biological symbiote suspectible to detection by a blood test. Star Wars isn't explicitly atheist, but it isn't theists either. It simply borrowed plot elements whose most conspicuous presence in popular culture had previously been in story that had contained Christian (as well coopted pagan) elements.

I thought the original was so-so. I haven't seen the new one but when I heard they used guns which fired bullets, I lost interest in ever seeing it.

The dark side is simply satan.

Christians would hardly say satan is another side of God.

It is another side of the supernatural forces that they [traditionally] believe control the universe.
