I've extensively studied Revelation from a theistic point of belief, and yes, it does. The bible speaks of horrible tortures for humanity and doesn't schedule the rapture until that's already started. Furthermore, god only saves a fistful of Jews in that story; everyone else burns. Some think that the "multitude in white robes" represents Christians, but others think those are angels. Both claims are speculation, obviously, and the point is that when Jesus comes back, most of humanity is supposedly fucked by locust-lion-scorpion-human monsters.

Yeah, I don't take Revelations as literal gospel truth. If you want a more Catholic belief in regards to the second coming of Christ, take a look at chapter 2 article 7 in the Catechism. Smile

EDIT TO ADD: The Catechism can be difficult to read, another great source that breaks it down is this link here: https://www.ewtn.com/faith/teachings/judga2.htm .... feel free to check it out if you want a more thorough understanding of what Catholics believe in regards to the second coming.)
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

If not, then why do you take ANY if it as gospel truth? Revelation is in the bible, is it not? The bible is the infallible word of God, is it not? If not, how do you tell which is which? Because priests tell you? Good luck with that.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

No, we do not believe that the bible is infallible. Smile

Yes, it is the inspired word of God written through the filter of man, not written by the hand of God Himself.

Us Catholics believe that the Church is the main pillar of Truth, not the bible. Unlike other Christians, we are not Sola Scriptura. The Church existed before the bible did anyhow.

If it is the inspired word of god, then it is infallible.

You just contradicted yourself.

I think you are drunk and incapable of properly explaining yourself.

Not at all, I italicized the word inspired on purpose to show that it was not actually written by God, merely inspired by Him. It was put into words through the filter of man.... thus having it's limitations and imperfections.

I doubt CL even drinks anything harder than a Coke. Mostly because she's religious and as far as I know in religion drinking alcohol is a sin, just like masturbation is.

Besides, I don't belive such a beautiful girl would abuse alcohol. Big Grin

Lol, yes and no.

You are correct about me not drinking. But it isn't because alcohol is a sin. It actually isn't against my religion to drink alcohol. I just personally can't stand the taste of it. I tried in my younger days, but could never get myself to like it hahaha.

Thanks for the compliment! Smile

The thing with christiaity and all in all any religion that references yaweh as god and good. There are people who wan't to for the lack of a better word
want to watch the world burn. Like i asked with the question would you if you had the power to push that button and you said yes. The thing is in the bible
and a lot of theists do this. They misinterpret and or switch things around that jesus says. Like you are not supposed to follow the NT jesus said follow the old teachings.
That being said when he comes back he would kill all of us meaning along with demons running around he will lead the army of angels to kill humans as well.
There are people who want that to happen all in all what would your reaction be if the second coming was literal to the bible(meaning you see angels killing people and demons etc) and you had a second chance not to push that button?

If your god is all-powerful and infallible, his word should be like him. If you really think it's only "god-inspired," then there is no way to tell which parts are inspired and which are not. This invites cherry-picking like nothing I've ever seen. Under this belief, figuring out which parts are "inspired" amounts to sorting it out with either your personal opinion or someone else's; this means that while the words come from fallible men, SO DOES THE DECISION ON WHICH WORDS ARE INSPIRED. If god can tell you which parts of his word are "correct" (why he would tell you or a priest instead of the writers themselves is beyond me), he should also be able to just tell it to you directly and skip the stupid book.

At any rate, if revelation is a bunch of crap, how would you have ANY idea what's supposed to happen when Jesus comes back? For all you know, it could be WORSE than revelation.

Oh that's right I forgot...the Catechism. Another book written by men. How is that more or less fallible than the bible? It presents the exact same logical problems.

Catholics can drink alcohol in moderation. You are confusing some very loud Protestant sects with Catholics.
