Persecution by Christians I mean.  I get tired of hearing about Christians being persecuted in the United State where they are in the majority.  I get even tireder when I hear what it is that they consider persecution.  So I thought I post a few examples of real Christian persecution:

In the  Swainsboro Primary School in Georgia teachers not only held prayers in school, the effectively punished the children of atheist parents by sending the children out into the hall during prayers.  Some teachers even pulled the atheist children aside during lunch to attempt to convert them. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyath...ve-in-god/

A second grad boy in Fort Wayne Community Schools, Indiana, was asked by a female classmate where he went to church.  He responded that he did not go to church because he did not believe in god.  She said that his answer hurt her feelings.  The playground supervisor told him she was very concerned about what he had done and the she would contact his mother.  She did not contact his mother, instead she made the boy sit by himself during lunch for having offended other students. http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local...er-7378928

That's because you haven't searched for those, Christian children have been told a several schools they are not allowed to say a blessing before they eat, seems a shame when teachers deter thankfulness.

There is nothing preventing children at any public school from performing their religious rituals, as long as they do not interfere with classes and learning. 

Prayer meetings (before school, during lunch or after school), Christians clubs (after school hours), and a prayer at lunch are allowed at all pubic schools.

There are a few cases of schools prohibiting children from praying. 

There's this 2002 Saratogo case in which a girl not only said grace but tried to get other students to join her.  According to the school it's that later bit that got her in trouble.  In any case it's been settled without damages.  She may pray at lunch.  She may not ask others to join her.

The thing is that like the above case they are either attempts to stop disruptions, or misunderstandings of the school's First Amendment obligations.  What they are not is attempts by atheists or Jews, or Muslims, or other non-Christians to prevent Christianity.  And none of them involves attempts to deconvert Christian kids.

Just imagine the hell that would break loose if an atheist teacher were to hold a child in over recess to explain that there is no god.

Well, thankfulness is all well and good. Often posted, but oh so true.

Christians can be persecuted like any other group, and they are in countries like Saudi Arabia and have been in the past - But they can't be persecuted when they are the majority of the population and simultaneously hold most institutional, economic and political power. Christians can only be discriminated the same way white people are marginally discriminated. Persecution denotes open aggression against a group or person and is worse than discrimination. It certainly doesn't apply. French laws are not exactly the best example of secularism That's laicité. I think a 100% secular society is an impossibility because we would have to abolish Christmas and take measures that we can't possibly if we desire freedom, but a rational level of secularism is desirable. Nothing will stop the majority of people in my country from being Christian and thus Christianity having higher cultural influence, so secularism isn't 100% in effect, but it is enough to allow me to scream "Fuck Jesus" without being arrested.
