I have never studied out evolution and for the most part in school (Florida) I did not receive an education in it. That didn't really change much in college either because I am currently still attending that private Christian school as a senior.
One thing I am curious to know though is if you have a star that is 5 million light years away and we are seeing the light from it now how in the world can people say the earth was made 6,000 - 15,000 years ago? I have heard that people believe God created the light inbetween so we could see them or the idea that 6,000 - 15,000 years ago the speed of light wasn't the constant that it is now.
Is this seriously the best arguments that YEC has to offer? The other baffling thing to me is why people get so worked up with evolution anyway. It has nothing to do with the existence/non-existence of a higher power. The only thing is really shoots in the face is a literal interpretation of Genesis which even some Christians think wasn't intended to be literal in the first place.
I am not sure if the speed of light is one of the main arguments against YEC or not but it seems like that elephant in the room itself is enough to make the idea look pretty absurd.
The speed of light debunks creation. 1. the light of the stars you see in the sky are far older than the earth as the light you see took millions to billions of years to get to earth.
2. the pillar of creation that gas formation no longer exist
3. if the world was only 6 thousand years old the night sky would be dark void of the light from stars and other things.

Fuck off. Ignoring the fact that you chose to lecture a well established and long standing member whose communication style fits wonderfully in this community, the fact that it wasn't necessary to necropost but did anyway indicates you're a fucking hypocrite.

This is the forum version of someone exhuming Lincoln's corpse but then just teabagging it.

No, this funny alternative synchronization convention which gives you the one-way infinite speed of light, the one creationists love so much, is not measurable or testable, because it is a convention - a relabelling of the space and time axes if you will.
The whole thing is not nearly as deep as it seems at first glance. It boils down to an admittedly astonishing property of special relativity: that one can consistently claim that all events the news of which couldn't have reached us due to speed of light limitations, haven't actually happened yet - without running into contradictions.
For example, when you watch Andromeda, in standard lingo the things you see in the telescope have happened roughy 3 million years ago. Now do this: Simply *call* the time at which they have happened on Andromeda "2015" and then act like anything after the events you observe on Andromeda now, hasn't happened yet - which you can do if you postulate a you-o-centric universe. That's it.

When you use the claim that the moon landing is a hoax as evidence for your theory, you're peddling bullshit.
