KOIN is reporting that the shooter is dead
EDIT: 13 dead, 20 wounded EDIT2: Press Conference w/ Sheriff John Hanlin: not confirming the number of wounded or fatalities. Confirmed that the shooter was male and that he is dead.

Are you going to assign all blame to extremism or to guns as the we decide who is at fault in this society of well-armed extremists?

Whoa. Unconfirmed, but here we go:
(Transcribing from the newscaster so pardon my spelling mistakes on names etc.) "From the Roseburg Newspaper: Courtney Moore... was in her Writing 115 class in Snyder Hall when one shot came through a window. She saw her teacher get shot in the heard. The shooter was inside at that point and he told people to get on the ground. The shooter was asking people to stand up and state their religion and then started firing away."

Shooter confirmed dead by local officials. MSNBC is reporting 13 dead.
Not a peep from the NRA, wonder why?
More information:

Everyone is going to talk about motivation, terrorist, hate group influence, or mental illness. I wish people would stop taking about that, it gives the gun worhipers another do nothing excuse "don't blame responsible gun owners".
I blame the makers, not the buyers. The makers use the NRA to sell fear to keep our flooded gun market. Guns are made like candy and as easy to get legally and illegally. The makers need to get sued, not to get rid of all guns, but to make them care about how many they make and where they end up.
Sickening. Kitan, what say you?
This sort of thing has been happening far too often. I feel terrible for the families of those who were shot.
People will say this isn't the time to talk about gun control. It shouldn't be. That time should have passed. After Colubmine, after Sandy Hook. If nobody is going to stand up and talk about gun control, then these shootings will keep happening, and they will keep happening at the rate they do. After 9/11 we didn't say "Now isn't the time to talk about fighting Terrorism." After three cases of Ebola nobody said "Now isn't the time to talk about preventive measures.' After one woman got shot by an illegal immigrant, nobody said "Now is not the time to talk about illegal immigration." Yet mass shooting after mass shooting people insist that it's not the time to talk about gun control. Republicans will spout their usual nonsense about "Only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun." They'll talk about how it was a gun free zone (as if we shouldn't have gun free zones, and as if UCC was actually gun free, which apparently it might not have been because of an Oregon court case). They'll do anything to protect their precious penile compensation devices. If we don't do something about gun control now, will we ever? Will we look at the next tragedy and say yet again "Now is not the time to talk about gun control?" Will we continue hearing Republicans talk about how guns are great? Can't we do something to prevent the next senseless tragedy? Again, like we did after 9/11. Or do our politicians lack the vagina to do anything against the terrorist organization known as the NRA? The answer is clearly not 'more guns'. We may not be able to entirely eliminate mass shootings, but we can do something to reduce them. I think we owe it to everyone. The second amendment does not have to be absolute. Guns aren't going to protect us from tyranny. Guns aren't going to protect us at all. They're just going to keep taking more and more lives. And it's time something was done. We have to try to prevent the next one from happening. We have to reduce the amount of mass shootings in this country. Surely that's a noble and worthy cause? At least 13 people are dead. Maybe there was nothing that could have stopped this senseless tragedy. Maybe the shooter would have gotten a gun no matter what. And then again, he might not have. Shouldn't we at least try, though? Shouldn't we at least do something other than go out and buy more guns? People think it's horrible that we have to politicize these horrific events. And in a way it is. Because we should have done something about it without having to resort to the political arguments that are being made now. We should have done something about it after Columbine, or at the very least after Sandy Hook. How many people have to die before we do something? All of us? Or just someone important enough to a senator or congressman who is in the pocket of the NRA? RE: BREAKING: OREGON COLLEGE SHOOTING

"Only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun"
I love how people have this totally ironic self-defense attitude about it... they don't seem able to realise that if carrying guns was illegal you wouldn't fucking need the "good guy with the gun". Yes it should be banned, this "right to bear arms" is fucking stupid and should have been re-amended decades ago. http://edition.cnn.com/2015/10/01/us/ore...-shooting/ According to this article, the shooter had spoken with people online the night before about his intentions... nobody thought "shit, this guy might not be fucking around? Better tip-off the school and the cops." Really?
