Big Bad Dumb Christian checking in... O_o
Hey, I'm new of course. I'm 18, so I'm hardly an adult and thus I have a lot to learn about stuff and truth in life. I came to this forum hoping to have good serious curious philosophical debates with serious people (unlike the childish rants between atheists and theists on reddit and in my school etc..).I don't know THAT many atheists in real life since I live majority Hindu and Muslim country.

I am an ex- ex- Christian (meaning I was a Christian, then Is stopped being a Christian, then I finally went back to believing again in Christianity 2 years back). What first drew me away was the sheer hypocrisy of Christians around me. And during my time as a non-believer (not fully atheist non-believer, just kind of an agnostic non-believer "I don't care" kind a person) I became more interested in differing worldviews. I became involved in different religions and ideologies which are mostly occultic in nature.

But for some long story-load of reasons, I resettled back in Christianity and I am convinced (out of deep profound intuition, not of direct observance arationalization) that every word of the Bible is true........ (In other words, feel free to say I'm stupid, irrational, faithy and crazy)

So if you have questions or challenges about Christianity, Occultic Satanism, New Age philosophy, Fringe Physics, Theology and Hinduism & Eastern thought, or even my personal experience of atheism, I can help.

Though I appear like a close-minded bible-bag, I promise you I will try my best to stay as open minded and objective as my (bigoted, irrational, narrow-minded, Jesus-freaky) mind can let me.

Any questions?

P.S. Please please pleasr smile and be kind to me bcz I feel nervous and little scared that you might yell at me.

Hello, welcome aboard Smile

You sound very reasonable to me. If anyone does yell at you, I think it's unjustified given your intro. Just ignore them if so.

I look forward to discussions with you!

For big discussions about the truth of the bible etc, you could make a separate thread or join in one of the millions already going on that subject Wink If you want to discuss it, of course. You're not obliged to discuss any subject you don't want to. We like theists who just want to talk to us as people Smile

You can use the "today's posts" button to see what are the most recent active threads, or else go to the Christianity subforum in religion. You could find one there, or start a new one there. People are generally discouraged from replying to posts more than 30 days old, but apart from that, you can hop in any subject where it's relevant. Or just make your own new one Smile Sometimes that is better, if you're interested in a focussed discussion. You can then keep track of it in "my posts" at the top, too, along with any other threads you post in.

No problem! You sound a lot more open minded than most of the Christians we get coming through here, so I hope you stick around Smile We do have some very nice ones though that have already become firm favourites in the community here.

Nah. It's too early for that. We'll lull you into a false sense of security first. Besides - some of us haven't had our morning whiskey yet...
Welcome.

I think all theistic beliefs are irrational, not least because no one can define for me what "God" is in a way that is distinguishable from nothing at all or a figment of imagination. All I get are meaningless phrases, things that it is not, and fallacious arguments. I have a thread here specifically for challenging theistic arguments. You're welcome to join in! I'm low on participants.

If "God" is just "the cause" then that doesn't mean it's sentient, and it's also begging the question. There may not be a cause.

I understand why people hold such belief, I just think that it is not for rational reasons. But it's up to each person to make up their own mind about these things.
