It doesn't strike me as a difficult concept to grasp, guys. Undecided

If someone says they have felt the presence of gawd, yes, I usually just shrug it off as another one of the millions of people who have that . . . belief . . . yet cannot offer any proof.   She's one of literally millions.  That's because gods have been a part of human mythology for many thousands of years.  They're woven into the culture, and will probably be difficult to eradicate.

It's when they KEEP asserting that they have been talking to gawd, over and over, clearly wanting the listener to say "ok, yes, I believe it is gawd you've been talking to" that I start getting annoyed.   I want to say "I heard you.  Next topic please, move on."  And they just keep yammering about their imaginary friend.  Repeating a personal, unverifiable claim will not convince me.  Give it a rest.  After a few dozen assertions they have gone from boring to very, very irritating.

im not stopping anyone from going to another thread that doesnt discuss personal relationships with deities . if your irritated with this topic and people describing their personal relationship with deities which is what the thread is about you can go to a different thread that you dont think is annoying right?

Being that this thread is about those personal relationships...is it so unfair to ask that someone present such a relationship in the first place?  Is there some point at which you will demonstrate that you have such a relationship, or that there is more than just one person in this relationship..namely, yourself?

No more or less silly than believing you've detected something that you haven't.  No more or less silly than claiming to have detected something and then failing to establish that.  No more or less silly than claiming to have proof and then withholding it.

how am i shriveling from my claim of detection read all the comments ive made on this website so far what am i talking about ? I did not use any equipment i didnt need any equipment just my mind that was not closed was all i needed .
See bolded line - I agree with you.  So, you can't really "share" it, you can't transfer the experience, you can't prove you had the experience, and you can't even describe it in enough detail to let another person imagine it.

So why share it at all?  Why not just keep your personal experience personal?  And, of all places, why come here to share it, when the very name of the website tells you that you won't be believed?  -- Because most of us won't believe from personal anecdotes, no matter how good you are at telling them.

the reason why im sharing it is because this thread is called personal relationships with deities its the topic of discussion and so im discussiong it . what more appropriate place to discuss it than here in this thread ? you must have not read the sign on the door i think your lost ....

It's the contents of your discussion that you're being called to task on, not the fact that you're having one. If you cannot share this experience, if your proof is identical to no proof...what are you sharing, what are you discussing?

What relationship? Do you actually have one?

But have your god stop by and introduce (him? her? itself?)  --  by itself, without needing to talk THROUGH a human.  That would be absolutely history-making.  I hope I get to see it.

Yeah, but not everybody has been saved from religion... and those who haven't are really making a mess of things, don't you think?

I don't know if this God is going to stop by and give us an introduction...

Yes.

And that's any god in a nutshell. Undetectability and unfalsifiability applies to all supernatural claims and all gods.

Are you forgetting the original post?   robvalue set these very clear parameters:

"To me, this is a sensible, loose definition of a personal relationship:

An independent observer can verify that

1) Both parties in the relationship exist, and are easily distinguishable from being imaginary.
2) Both parties have an independent intelligence.
3) Both parties directly communicate with the other party in a meaningful, observable way."

The experiences you describe do not fulfill these requirements.  You are unable to demonstrate that the OP's claims are inaccurate. You are on an Atheist website.   This does not mean that the "Christian" section is for people to gush on about their gawd.  You are on an Atheist website.  You say you don't want to convince anyone, but the fact that you have wasted dozens and dozens of posts on this topic shows otherwise - - you DESPERATELY want agreement.  You're not going to get it.   Assertions of your personal experience are boring and beyond after the second or third description.   You've already agreed that you're not going to be able to prove your claims.  You've made your point.  So why don't you drop this topic and go start a more interesting thread, something where you won't be labeled as just another insane Theist who thinks she's talking to gawd?  Because if you keep trying to claim something you can't prove, the ridicule is just going to keep piling up.
