the story of babble is in close proxcimity to the ark story in the book of genesis, but in reality the time between those two events was massive, maybe even a few dozen generations... That what it would take to populate a city from Noah's two sons, and their wives.

Eight people went on the ark, and I've heard the babel story was 150 years later. People back then had no sense of scale. In any case, my point was that the flood didn't seem to work to well at eradicating evil, if Yahweh thought them building the tower was such a bad idea, and confusing their language didn't seem to do any good either in the long run. You'd think an all knowing being would be able to fix the problem the first time.

Actually it worked perfectly, as the Evil it eradicated no longer exists, yet man still does.. (Lest you see titans roaming around somewhere)

With as much detail as the bible puts on names, and who begot who, you'd think they'd give us a timetable on events as well.

Yet most of the population of Earth is still going to hell for being too evil. That doesn't sound like a success.

Why is your god a) so inept that he can't create something properly the first time, b) so fucking stupid that he can't see what is coming, and c) why are you such a fucking infant as to think such asinine stories are real?

So the question if you believe in fairies and Bigfoot turns out to be moot after all.

A baked brick means something that is small enough to fit into and not crack when baked... So about the size of the bricks we use now.

bricks are far easier to repurpose than 400 ton granite blocks.

After all according to you even the great stone henge was repurposed all except the stuff too heavy to move/move very far. with this in mind what in your estimation should be left at the tower site that was made up of hand size bricks??

Not much, maybe. Foundations. Evidence of work crews living/being nearby. Other structures built out of the repurposed bricks. Maybe not much, but something. The same kind of evidence we find near the Pyramids, probably. Certainly more than you've offered here. "It could have happened this way," without evidence, is nothing more than a guess, regardless of how reasonable your ad hoc assumptions might be.

In the History section King Nebuchadnezzar wrote of it describing what was left in his day, three other historeans wrote of it, and Alexander the Great destroyed what was left and tried to rebuild it.

How's that for proof pinkster? 4 Points of non biblical history.

The history section of that article suggests that stories of the Tower of Babel are based on the Hebrew exposure to the Ziggurat of Babylon. What you have there is a Jewish story about a monument that was foreign to them, and upon which Gaud took offense because it was too tall. Just because the Jews based their story on an actual tower, doesn't make the story they told historically factual.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

"Look - there it isn't"? That's your standard of credulity?

And you're using the word "lest" quite wrongly.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

RE: The Tower of Babel
Yes, a tower was mentioned by other sources. That tower might or might not have been inspiration for the tower of babel story. None of those other sources however mention the confusing of languages, God knocking it down, or anything else to corroborate the story. Just like other cultures fail to mention they all descend from a guy named Noah who survived a flood in a wooden ark and kept 2 of each animal inside.
