Atheist and Christmas

RE: Atheist and Christmas
How can you not love Christmas? Decorations, presents, caroling, good food and drink, family, friends. You can have all that without believing in Jeebus.

I do not celebrate Christmas only because I do not celebrate any holiday.

RE: Atheist and Christmas
I love Christmas, even though I'm an Atheist. I think it's a wonderful time of year. It's mostly secular anyway. There's just so much about it I really like. The candy canes. Dressing up in holiday outfits that Christians most definitely would not approve of! The Christmas shopping! Watching our kids count down the days until Christmas, and going to bed way before their bed time the night before! Then of course waking up at 5:00 AM to open presents, watching our kids eyes light up as they see what we got them. The time off is great too.

Christmas is probably the one thing about being a christian I remember fondly. The only thing I don't look forward to is my father-in-law spending any time with us. But at least it shouldn't be too much time, and nobody should be alone for Christmas. Even the religious crazies.

I was wondering if Atheist celebrate Christmas in any way and if they allow their kids to?

We have a man here that he and his family deck out their property with lights and such just no religion to it.  Yes they exchange gifts.

So was wondering how other atheist did it?

I wish to apologize if this question offended anyone here. Asked this exact question in Usenet Alt.atheism and lets just say was not received well. Seems agnostics aren't welcome there.

So again I did learn much and for the good from this group and did not mean to offend anyone.

Just watch the master (Min) and follow his lead on the next religious post...
You'll get the hang of it...

I love Christmas. If I find myself trapped with someone that goes religious on me I find the nearest nativity scene and entertain myself rearranging the figures into a wild bestial orgy, sit back with some spiced eggnog and wait for the 100dB shriek. It's a hoot.

Swap presents, eat, drink, watch the usual xmas crap on telly, drink, spend most of my time online, drink and masturbate a lot (in lieu of proper intimacy). My heart really isn't in it anymore so generally it's like any other stupid day, but with funny lights and bits of coloured string. And sprouts.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Christmas is my favourite time of the year, bar none. I love spending time with my family, eating shitloads of food and drinking way too much beer, watching whatever TV/DVD's are on/have been brought for people and generally having a good time.
Christmas is also associated with snow, and I loves snow :3 Even though it never actually snows on Christmas day in my part of the UK...
