Our union attorney was married to a shrink....we used to say that she married one of her patients!....but after a particularly rough session with this guy he went home and discussed him with his wife. She said "he's got Aspergers Syndrome" and sent him to a web site. He later forwarded that site to us and it described this guy perfectly. It also indicated that there was no cure and only intensive therapy while the victim was still young had shown any success. He had not getten that therapy.
Yeah, well, as Christian Weston Chandler has shown us, being on the Autistic Spectrum is no excuse for being a terrible human being. For instance, I'm on the Autistic Spectrum (specifically, I have Hyperlexia, professionally diagnosed) and I don't act like a Neo-Nazi like that guy you described did, and people tend not to notice that I have a disorder until I tell them.
Did I mention he was also an alcoholic? And an anti-semite. And anti-female. And anti-black. He liked dogs but thought that they should run free in packs. If given a page of written instructions he would re-write them in phonetics. For 8 months he managed to live inside the office with no one knowing. A truly amazing character. I can't believe that he hasn't been murdered.

Well, I managed to get that he was a racist and anti-semite from your previous post. That he was a misogynist and an alcoholic, however, you didn't mention.

I could talk for hours about that motherfucker.
He got beaten up in a church once. He was arguing with the minister during the sermon. These were not Quakers!
Do you know why they finally decided to fire him? He wrote a letter to a senior manager, a woman, complaining about his work station being in the middle of the floor ( as were all the other secretarial work stations ) and asked her "how would you like to put your brassiere on in a gold fish bowl every morning?"

I understand that perfectly. I hate having a desk at the end of a row. It's nearly impossible to explain, but there has been some research that shows that some Aspies need a "balance" of some kind near them. I feel very sorry for that guy, because I know and have felt exactly what he's going through.

After reading that page about Christian Weston Chandler, my reaction is one of utter shock and I am not a person who is shocked very easily.

Nearly choked when I loaded it in a back tab and took a peek in a crowded computer lab.

I wasn't shocked or even surprised by the site... I wonder what this says about me
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day

Anyway back to the article, I have a weak theory of mind and as a result I find this article quite compelling. Because I don't engage very in teleological thinking, for example; if something happened to me I would either invoke a natural cause, give a descriptive response and explaining the event again in a different way.
My lack of teleological thinking is a reason I believe sometimes the whole idea of god/s to be frankly well absurd and illogical. Also I wonder why people developed the idea of divinities in the first place.
