That is far from the truth, though, except where certain areas of scientific expertise are involved.

No one here will miss you.

That's a trick question. You're prepared to attack me no matter what I say.

Nope. But, I'm prepared to call out your bullshit when I see it.

It's a shame that every time I see hope in you you have to ruin it by seeking out a nice person and treating them like garbage. I highly suggest if you're really not a troll you ask your therapist to help you learn some social skills.

Seriously?

You brought up something non-relational to this thread.

Grow up.

I was just saying that I genuinely enjoyed him in the other thread and if that's the guy he really is, I would like to see more of that side of him. That's the only only thing I brought up from another thread.

I do not have kids, I am a gay male who has never had sex with a woman my entire thirty-six years on this planet, and I can state with certainty that I can certainly give any parent out there advice on how to raise a child.

Hell, I am not asking for you to follow my advice or even to recognize it.

All I ask is that it is possible for one who has never raised a child to be capable of giving advice on how to raise one.

It is possible.

If you think otherwise, you have lost your senses.

There's multiple sides to a person, as I'm sure you know. There's also multiple ways to interpret something, not all of them reasonable.

I never intend to have kids myself, or at least I don't think I do. I do however care about the world I live in, simply because I live in it and wish to lead a better life. I don't think a more open society would be a bad thing and I think some traditional ways of doing things are outdated and simply bad. Make of that what you will.

If you've never been responsible for kids, especially teenagers, you have no place giving advice here!

Fuck off, EP!

No, fuck that.

One does not need the direct experience with children to know or understand how they should be raised.

After all, we were all once children ourselves, and it is entirely and logically applicable for those without children to be capable of making suggestions toward being raised how they should have been raised.

Raising children based solely on your experiences as a child is like teaching guitar based on your first fumblings on the instrument. The fact is that parenting is an enormous responsibility, and if you haven't experienced it, feel free to offer your advice, but don't for a moment think you're in a position to lecture actual parents who've successfully raised children, which is the dynamic in play here.

Not all opinions are equal. The idea that they are, or should be, is asinine and to be deprecated.

As for your comment about a "gang attack", bear in mind that poking a wasp's nest isn't only going to fetch up one wasp on you. You come into a thread acting like a know-it-all even when you have not one iota of experience on the subject at hand, and then proceed to talk down to folks who have many years of experience, well, yeah, you're gonna take hits, and not from an assigned respondent.

Perhaps this experience will teach him to be more thoughtful -- but I won't lie, I seriously doubt it.

The idea terrifies me. No. Noooo. Especially in America. Just no. I grew up in an abusive family. I am extremely over protective of my children. In a majority Christian nation with a shit ton of people spouting on about how the reason the world is worse off is because people don't spank their kids enough....I cringe at the thought. Now that I've typed this I feel like a may have misinterpreted your post entirely. I don't even now remember why I thought you meant society helping to raise kids. I haven't slept. Anywho, I don't think you're entirely off, as per usual you give advice in a way that's very insulting. It's frustrating. A thing I've learned since having my own children, being a parent is a lot harder in reality than in theory. You can't protect your kids from everything. It scary. I think there's no one right way to raise a child. But good intentions really are important. Everyone will make mistakes as a parent, and loving your. Kids is extremely important. Feelings are extremely important. It's not going to be good enough on its own but it is important.

Good for you since your "opinion" is worth absolutely SHIT.

Seriously, it does.

This one:
Until you have children of your own, your opinion is invalid.

Seriously, the ill logic is quite apparent.

Bullshit and apple-butter. I've flown flight-simulators on PCs for 20 years. Would you feel comfortable with me writing FAA guidelines for landing approaches? How about if I were piloting your airplane?

Pull your head out. You're only deprecating experience in this topic because you lack it and don't want to feel unable to contribute.

When I don't know about something, I have the good sense to listen to those who do.
