Looks like the Iranians torched the Saudi embassy in Tehran.
It's a start. And a pox on both their houses. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
Saudi Arabia, Sudan and the UAE have cut off diplomatic ties with Iran while Russia has offered to act as an "intermediary" between the countries. Looks like shit is really hitting the fan in the Middle East.

The Iranians noted the clerics only offense was calling for the the overthrow of the royal family and presumably replacing it with Shiites.
