1.The change of the political landscape

Sanders victory will have profound impact on what kind of canidates we will be able to elect in the future. It will alow other grass-roots campaigns to have a real shot at a general election.

2.Previously apathetic citizens will start becoming more politically active.

This will also restore faith that the system can be fixed and help progressives push more legislation that previously would have been considered to "left-wing"

3.Sanders isnt bought and wont give up

We need a candidate who isnt going to comprise when it comes to major issues. We need major change sooner rather than later. Those of you who say its not possible just look at bush, everyone told him what he could and could not do and he ignored them and everything he wanted and Donald Trump is similar.

Could I have a hit off whatever you're smoking?

1.  Nothing will change the political landscape.  The problem with Sanders is virtually the same as the problem with Trump.  They both stand there and say "I'm going to do this" and "I'm going to do that" and neither seems to understand that he is running for president, not "king."  You don't walk in and tell the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee what he is going to do.  Trump, being a business criminal asshole, has probably never had that kind of opposition from what he perceives as his own side.  Sanders has been in Congress long enough to know better.

2.  You have far more faith in your fellow citizens than I do.  The fuckers can't even be bothered voting in mid-term elections.

3.  Almost irrelevant.  Because as Obama learned you are dealing with a congress which is bought and will sell out at the drop of a hat.  Remember that Obama threw in the towel on single-payer health insurance not because of the republicunts but because of a handful of conservative democrats who would not support it.

We have had, since 2010 a bunch of conservatard fuckheads who refuse to compromise and the result has been disaster.  Like it or not, "compromise" is the basis of American government and we need much more of it... not less.

Welcome back.
Unlike Trump however, Bernie actually has a plan to get things done.

And that makes a world of a difference in the context of what you're talking about.

RE: Why i believe Sanders needs to win
I don't think most of the campaign promises Sanders is touting have a chance in hell to come about. The American political system will not allow it.

Most of those promises are directed at mobilizing young people. All these 22 year olds leaving college with 80k in student loan debt, all these 26 year olds coming off their parents insurance, all these 18 year olds happy about the eccentric old man telling them things they want to hear.

If Bernie can get a Democratic Congress, he can get rid of Citizen's United, and then he can work on campaign finance reform and lobby reform. If there is a head of steam and Congress sees that it might succeed, the watershed moment will happen when they can enact the change that takes the power out of lobby groups. If Congressmen and women and Senators become beholden to the people, the soul sucking traffic jam that is Congress can clear up, even if only a little.

Then, midterm elections will happen, young people won't vote, and the GOP will take over again and exorcise all their grudges for the first six years.

Welcome back.
Also is this "thinking they will become king" a bad quality?

It's honestly a great quality, this expectation alone is the reason why Trump is leading, possibly why Sanders is as well. It's this attitude they go around with that they expect to make a huge change. Why is that bad? Trump isn't a bad candidate because he expects too much, it's because of the content of what he expects. It shows confidence, which is everything. Yes, Sanders expectations may be far fetched, but really, is that bad? If I could vote, i'd throw my eggs in the basket for a person who promises the most positive change, because promise in itself isn't bad, a person who thinks they can change the most usually ends up changing the most.

It's similar to an old native american proverb I like to believe:
"He who thinks he can, and he who thinks he can't are both usually right."

Steve Jobs:
"Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do."

Why do you think Donald Trump is winning? It's not solely because all of these people are racist bigoted buffoons, it's because Donald promises the most change, and the promises he makes people agree with. However, he's not a lunatic, he's shooting for the stars because he knows people are going to believe he will make it there. A large amount of people aren't even in favor of his policies, they simply want him to win because they know if he did there will be changes. The last thing America wants is for an establishment puppet to win, who won't bring anything new to the table.

Granted, DT's supporters are clearly moronic for thinking any of the things he's promising are positive for america, that doesn't change the fact that if Ben Carson had the exact same policy proposals, ideas, and promises as Trump, he'd never reach the height that Donald has, simply because he wouldn't be confident, and verbal about them. That's the deciding difference. The American people can tell, on either side, that both Sanders and Trump really, truly, think they can make a change, and I can't stress how important that factor is, in the effort to actually making a change.

Also--to be clear--Bernie himself has said that none of this stuff has a chance of happening unless you fix the broken, rigged system.

Great.

Now all he has to do is get it through Congress.

He should talk to Obama about that.

RE: Why i believe Sanders needs to win
So why don't we get a constitutional referendum circulating to completely do away with existing Congressional legal process, and while we're at it, the whole fuck-butter excuse for an electoral process too? Let's elect Sanders our President-For-Life, or our King, or whatever title applies to 3rd-World dictators these days (whatever the fuck the 3rd World is these days, it will be the envy of the US by the time this year is over). Because there's really no other way that the will of the American people can ever triumph again, no matter who is in office against the thugs who are installed in the system against us. The farce of democracy, at least for awhile, will need to be suspended for a bit while we descend on those fuckers, and make sure they won't be encouraged to come back by publicly fist-fucking them through the anus and making them taste it in their mouths (without removing fist from ass). Then they should be made to hop around on one foot, while singing "Yankee Doodle", or some other appropriately dopey old tune.

Oh, I just wish I were drunk or high on something right now! Sad
Mr. Hanky loves you!

Welcome back.

1.Your almost right, president doesn't equal king, however that hasn't stopped previous leaders from enacting major change.

2.It doesn't take faith to see the change boiling within the people.A revolution is approaching.

3.Congress doesn't exist in a vacuum the people can stop them.More and more people are becoming aware, which we result in major change.

Compromise=Giving in to the establishment.

4.Its good to be back, and its nice to see you again

1.  Yes.  Changes have been made when you get the legislation through Congress.  The republicunts are the party of "no."  They have no ideas beyond cutting taxes on rich motherfuckers, an idea which has been a disaster since 1983 when that senile old fuck Reagan started it.  Convince me that the republicunts are going to change.  Because it seems to me that they are getting crazier by the day.

2.  Sorry.  I've never seen a more apathetic bunch of shits than Americans.  Revolution?

3.  Here is your word for the day:  "Gerrymandering."  Learn what it means and you will know why Congress gives less than a shit about the voters.

Compromise is the way things get done.

1.Congress isnt king.

2.Again voters are becoming aware. and can change this.

3.You don't solve problems by not doing anything.

No compromise,only victory

1.  Read the constitution.  They don't have to be king.  They just get to control the purse strings.

2.  Voters are on the endangered species list.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voter_turn..._elections

https://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-re...5-122.html

Quote: The 2014 congressional election turnout rate of 41.9 percent was the lowest since the U.S. Census Bureau first began asking Americans about voting and citizenship status in 1978. The 2014 voting rate was 7.0 percentage points lower than in 1978 and down from the 45.5 percent that reported voting in the 2010 congressional election.

3.  Few people seem to know there even is a problem.
