Why i believe Sanders needs to win

RE: Why i believe Sanders needs to win
For me, the most important issue is the nominations to SCOTUS. Consider Scalia and Kennedy are 78 yrs old, and Ginsburg at 81, there will most likely 3 nominations for the next president to be elected to choose for SCOTUS. And to have any chances of reversing Citizens United Vs FEC, the most vile decision from SCOTUS, you would need a SCOTUS dominated by a majority of Democrat judges. So, the most important goal for the next election, in my estimation, is to elect a Democratic president. What about Sanders? You need to consider that presidents are not elected by the popular votes, by by electoral votes (EV). There are about 5 to 8 states that are considered as swing states. Sanders has a very small chance of winning those states. Why? He's too much to the left. In those swing states, you need a candidate closer to the center to get those independent votes and win the necessary EV. Like her or not, Hillary has a much better chance of winning those EV. I know a lot of people would have to pinch their nose and vote for her. But better that than risking a Republican win the presidency. Naming those judges to SCOTUS means you'll get people in their 50's who can sit there on SCOTUS for the next 30 years. Do you really want another SCOTUS under the wraps of the Republican party? Think twice before you consider your choices.

First off, let's lose the idea that all change is good.  I have no doubt that if any of these republicunt clowns get in you will see changes that will not make you happy in the least.

Politics is the art of the possible.  Pie-in-the-sky promises that have no chance of being enacted are meaningless.  Mere distractions from what has to be done.

In case you haven't guessed I have no great hope for the future.

Because it's unrealistic. Polarizing figures only work in the long term; in the short term, the Japanese proverb seems more apt: The nail that sticks up gets hammered down.

That said, I'm glad for Bernie's candidacy, and libertarian though I am, will give him the opportunity to earn my vote.

They are, however, the gatekeepers. Legislation doesn't materialize on the Oval Office desk out of thin air.

No compromise,only victory.

Nor can you effect change with unrealistic promises. When 536 minds go into the passage of one bill into law, compromise is a necessity.

1.The change of the political landscape

Sanders victory will have profound impact on what kind of canidates we will be able to elect in the future. It will alow other grass-roots campaigns to have a real shot at a general election.

2.Previously apathetic citizens will start becoming more politically active.

This will also restore faith that the system can be fixed and help progressives push more legislation that previously would have been considered to "left-wing"

3.Sanders isnt bought and wont give up

We need a candidate who isnt going to comprise when it comes to major issues. We need major change sooner rather than later. Those of you who say its not possible just look at bush, everyone told him what he could and could not do and he ignored them and everything he wanted and Donald Trump is similar.

Probably get that anyway.

Well, voters should not lose sight of the fact that we vote to express our desires, and if we vote for one who is not desired as a pragmatic strategy, then we may as well give up on seeing any real democracy ever again. Vote for the candidate you like, because the candidate who you can only trust to get things done cannot be trusted with your own interests! Vote for who you really want to see in the White House, because this is your chance to send Congress a message which they will actually read! If we repeatedly elect promising candidates who can't do what they promised, then what we need is a revolution.

If we ever see even a serviceable grade of democracy in this country again, it won't be because we dared to dream when we cast out vote.  No, it will be because we held our nose and voted for the candidate who could win and wouldn't appoint more judges who will seek to elevate corporations to a station above our own.

Are you serious? Since when wasn't Hillary less the whore for Big Greed? When she was the first lady, Slick Willy was promoting, not just approving NAFTA.

We will never get what we want by voting for who we cannot trust - compromise is not for the voters.
