God is a concept in that shows up in -some- religions, most religions even....but god is also a concept that shows up outside of religions. As in deism, which you describe as meaningless..but who cares if you think it's meaningless, that's not what were discussing..mostly because you can;t seem to describe -why- you think that..but also because it's irrelevant. Some people hold these views...religions with no gods, gods with no religions.
Similarly, religion is often associated with a god, but is also found in the absence of a god.
You've confused association for equivalence, that's all. It's not a big deal unless you make it one...........

That people claim to believe in god absent of any religion is misleading. God is an inherently religious concept and it doesn't make any sense outside of religion.

I don't know, and it wouldn't be relevant to the disagreement we're having so I don't see why I'd waste the time. Your contention...is that you cannot have god without religion...not that you cannot have the notion of god without the notion of belief in god.
If you've abandoned our only disagreement, then what's left? Do I even need to participate or could you talk to a wall instead?

It does matter to the disagreement we're having and I didn't abandon it. I'm just taking it one step at a time so you can understand my position.
