It escapes me how many people die from cleaning their guns. Doesn't ANYONE have the common sense to UNLOAD the damn thing PRIOR to cleaning it?

I would think that would be the first thing taught in a gun safety class. That and not to point it at someone. I mean shit. This is common fucking sense. You empty the barrel before cleaning. How many brain cells does it take to rub together to get that concept?
