I've been told it's natural to be nervous, but I am actually terrified that I'll mess up.

I understand, it's a horrible feeling. I get the same worries about my imminent bookkeeping career.

Well, I know what my strengths and weaknesses are, so I know where I need to improve. I'm a bit of an OCD when it comes to this sort of thing and that puts me at a disadvantage because I realize that not everything needs to be done perfectly, but at the same time, spending two hours on a haircut that would take a professional 25 minutes to do, just isn't acceptable. I need to make sure I am thorough in my work, whether it's hair cutting, coloring, perming etc. But I know I also can't be so slow that it's going to cost me clients when I do get a job.

Gotta find that middle ground. Now that I'm a senior level stylist, I will be given better instruction from my teacher as to how to get stuff done. Pre-salon was simply to teach us the basics so that we could learn more advanced techniques at the senior level.

I finally finished my project for school:

This is the mock studio. It is done and I can turn it in tomorrow. It measures 20 inches by 20 inches.


View from the top: There's a room for manicures/ pedicures, a reception area, a waiting area, four stylist stations with the dispensary in between, four rooms for facials and waxing, a break room, two bathrooms and four shampoo bowls. Nothing fancy, but these were the lego pieces that were available to buy, so I had to get a bit creative.

The second picture is the view from the front. The doors are all functional as well and the chairs spin, just like real salon chairs.

Thank you love! It was a pain in the ass to assemble though. Lego has actual wall pieces, but they don't carry them at the store on their Pick a Brick wall, so I had to settle for using larger plates and using different blocks to keep them upright. I'm just glad it's done so I can turn it in.
