The cause.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.
-- Homer Simpson God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion. -- Superintendent Chalmers Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things. -- Ned Flanders Once something's been approved by the government, it's no longer immoral. -- The Rev Lovejoy
Veridical (adjective): coinciding with reality.
What I meant was, why should give any more or less credence about what a NDE has to say about reality than we would give to a dream? Boru

I'd give it less credence, because of the more extreme stress on the brain.

Considering our 'brain-in-a-vat' scenario, there really is not any difference between dreams, NDEs or our 'normal reality'.

Even within the vat, one of those three appears to be more accurate and consistent than the others. Ultimately, we may choose to consider "normal reality" a sort of waking dream (I do, lol), but that won't change the qualitative differences between it and the other two.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Did your boyfriend lover left you? You are totally confused. First you come down with someone who suppose to have seen some sort of physical hell in his NDE. I already correct your blunder by explaining you that that is not possible for the reason that when you die you do not have a physical body anymore. Only consciousness is there therefore it is absurd to think that you can suffer physical pain in a hell that can not exist. After this blunder now you come out with more bullshit by telling me that there is a contradiction in my post. But where is this contradiction yog other than in your fantasy? Get real girl. Stop fooling yourself in thinking that you can be able to put me in a corner. I got bad news for you yog. Yoga never lost a match so far and never will. RE: Evidence for atheist claims

How old is the Rik? [edit] never mind...just scrolled another page back. So Rik has crept up to the age bracket with the highest risk of dimensia and Alzheimer's...Knowing that seems to make sense of a lot of this...
